Obama's War

Hi,

General McCrystal must be truly a brave soldier with the heart of a lion thumping in his chest---to have come out and openly stating that there are not enough troops to do the job in afghanistan---at least one american general has the courage and the cojones to speak up and tell the truth without fearing for his retirement benefits and other perks---and he tells to all and sundry---from here to timbuktu---or from afghanistan to washington DC.

The general needs enough troops to seal off the afghan, pak, iran, and the rest of the stan's borders at first---to stop the incoming weapons supply, the movement of the afghans and others from all sides of the borders and stop the movement of opium---america also needs to stop this lovey dovey relationship with the afghan govt and become an occupying force for awhile with the General acting as the PLENIPOTENTIARY of the united states---america needs toown afghanistan for awhile----this half hearted half a-rs-ed effort can linger on for another 50 years and still the next two generations of afghans will be fighting the americans.

"america also needs to stop this lovey dovey relationship with the afghan govt and become an occupying force for awhile..."

Agreed but probably not the only country in which we need to cease such lovey-doveyness.

a nice documentary that highlights the failures and shortcomings in the 8 year American invasion of AFG. attempts to engage the american audience into questioning the original purpose of the mission for a moment, which was to capture Osama/Taliban and destroy his network- the main perpetrator of 911, and then obscures the actual mission by refocusing on the ongoing battle with Afghan Taliban resistance.

makes absolutely no mention of India's involvement and her interests that are aligned with the US mission, and the threat it poses to Pakistan. but, why?

exposes the incompetant and heinously corrupt afghan govn't and her minions and makes her a scapegoat for their own failures in handling the two cities in which they barely operate outside the barracks.

last but not least, the crux of the blame is placed on Pakistan, secret hiders and backers of the AFG Taliban, alleged proxies of the ISI, makes a reference to Pakistan and the Nukes? oh! the fear factor, you know. perhaps the main fear factor behind accomplishing their objectives?

Nicely done.

nice documentary, must admit it was fun watching.

p.s. funny moments, American soldier extending hand to an old Afghan tribal and the afghan dude not knowing what to do as he was watched by other tribal n elders ROFL

second one, when the afghan minister was asked if he really hates Pakistan after noticing uneasiness on his face, (mind me he wasn't an Afghan, he was an indian agent) and reported further questioned about his facial expression so as to force him to say something about Pakistan, ROFL

Hi,

That won't be pakistan's loss---at least pak will be free to chose which direction it needs to go---but the u s has no choice---it is stuck between a rock and a hard place. If it is fortunate enough to get out of this morass in the next five years, we will count it as a blessing. But sadly---the things don't look that bright.

The tussle between pakistan and u s of a is like that of the 'war of the Roses'---there are too many people in the policy making position who have too many personal interests and favourites.

They need to stop making comments against pakistan and make comments like when israel does something----even if israel takes a shi-t---the american policy makers, congressmen, senators and the president are talking about how soft and round the turd is---what a perfect and beautiful the size andcolor is---that is what the u s needs to do with pakistan---to get the right results in afghanistan and withdraw with some dignity.
