Obama Bowed to the Saudi King - Does It Matter?

Saudi Arabia announces a $5m donation to the UN Refugee Agency in support of Iraqi refugees in Syria and Jordan

I'm sure there's more where this came from.

For your information, Saudi Arabia did house thousands of Iraqi refugees who fled the Saddam regime, for more than a dozen years. Now if you are unaware of this, it's not my fault.

No one invited these refugees, the Iraqi population basically encamped outside the borders, until they were let in. Saudi Arabia had also prepared for an influx of reguees, but non arrived.

Maybe Saudi Arabia was not there prefered destination.

I am still waiting for that detailed reply of yours...the one that you had kept brief, because of your pressing concerns.

This is a positive step in the right direction, but from what I have seen is this proposal of AID money was done in 2008-2009 period, that's 5-6 years into this bloody War, and 5 million to be honest is a small amount considering some estimates say there are 2 million Iraqi refugees in Syria and Jordan, if my math is correct than $5 million divided amongst 2 million people equals 2.5 (round up to $3) spent dollars per person and that's not even including the 2 million internally displaced Iraqis (yes I know the goal is not to distribute the money to ea. person but it shows the small potential of this donation), and the $5 million is really low when you consider it has to be divided up between Syria and Jordan ...Then again, it's something but they ought to do more as their overwhelming capacity allows them to.

Now read this source below...

"The Iraqi refugee population is the third largest in the world, the IRC says, topped only by the Afghan and Palestinian refugee populations. About 2 million Iraqis have fled, mostly to Syria and Jordan, and about 2.5 million more are displaced inside Iraq.

"Neither the U.S. nor the rest of the world is paying sufficient heed: External help provided by regional countries and major international donors has been half-hearted and woefully insufficient," according to an IRC (International Rescue Committee) statement."

At the end of the day, this is the point, External help provided by "regional countries [Saudi Arabia] are half-hearted and woefully insufficient"

No I doubt it, I couldn't find much other than this donation that the Saudis finally pledged to give 5-6 years into the War.

I am not talking about the past and Saddam, that is irrelevant, it is well known Saudi Arabia has done very little to help the refugees in today's War and today's refugee crisis. By the way, tell me how that 5 mill is working out? Has it built hospitals? Schools? Shelters?:disagree:

DarkStar with all respect I understand you like your "religious epicentre" in whatever way you meant it, your free to join Pres. Obama in bowing down respectfully to Emir Abdullah. :)

Saudi Arabia great place to go/retire if your a Former Dictator in exile.

By the way stop trying to portray it as if my posts are about an Anti-Saudi Agenda, that's not the case, why anti-Saudi?, when, what I want is adequate help for the Iraqi refugees.

I'm not interested in winning debate points, I am interested in a moral and greater goal.

Be patient, if that's not too much to ask, though I appreciate your keen and genuine interest in my posts and information.:)
