actually a$$holes like you believe in what ever sh1t you see, bomb wud have gone off if it wasnt funded by Americans themselves for an excuse to attack Pakistan if they dont see there favorite statement 'do more' happening, but does it occur to anyone that Americans killing innocent people, oh yeah only Americans have a right to live??

I am a netural person.I hate terrorists bombing our country and i think Taliban should be burned but honesty people here condemning this forget to condem the bombings by US In Iraq or Afghanistan which in result manage to kill civilians many times and then call it Collateral damage and when Israel bombs Gaza people justify it by saying Hamas is sending rockets well don't you people also drop bombs on Iraq??
95,888 – 104,595 violent civilian deaths as a result of the conflict in Iraq. All due to false reports of WMD in America and CIA knew that but people here will support it by saying oh we fucked but it was for democracy etc.

OTOH, This guy is one dumb ****.You don't fight war this way.You can fight by developing your economy and providing better education etc to your people so that they progress.Fighting a guerrilla war like Talibans do is cowardly.

What is wrong with you? Every damn terrorist attack or a potential attack is a conspiracy either by Americans or Israelis eh? Possibility is there, but there's a limit to the flood of conspiracy theories that the likes of you make up.

Your country has been plagued with this problem and still you are pointing at the West, living there and constantly blaming it for everything that's done wrong in your country of origin. What kind of a person are you? A terrorist was caught in the act and still you blame the West for conspiracy against Pakistan.

Lawmakers Seize on Times Square Terrorism Case

By Devlin Barrett

A day after a guilty plea in the attempted bombing of Times Square, a group of senators is seeking to force the Obama administration to declare that the Pakistan Taliban group behind the attack is a terrorist group.

Faisal Shahzad, a U.S. citizen born in Pakistan, said in court Monday that his failed car bomb plot was backed and financed by the Pakistan Taliban.

Still, the group isn’t yet labeled a terrorist organization by the U.S. government, unlike al Qaeda and its affiliates. Placing the Pakistan Taliban on the State Department’s list of terror organizations is more than just a bureaucratic step. It would allow the U.S. to seize assets of the Pakistan Taliban, and permit prosecutors to charge individuals with providing material support to the group.

Weeks ago, the senators from New York and New Jersey urged the State Department to add the Pakistan Taliban to the list. On Tuesday, they will announce proposed legislation forcing the government to do so.

The State Department, which handles the U.S. list of terror designations, says it is reviewing the matter. “Designation of the TTP is something we’re actively evaluating,” said P.J. Crowley, State Department spokesman.

What a Jerk this person is!!!

Pakistanis living abroad have some serious 'complexes in their minds' about religion & Pakistan, many of them are they are acting like hypocrites. WTH compelled him to destroy his life, lives of his loved ones & destroy the image of Pakistan, it seems more & more youth is becoming vulnerable to 'mullah jihadi mindset' even highly educated people are falling prey to it & this trend if continued will have horrific effects, the delusional mindset based on religious mythology needs to be dealt with

New York: Admitted terrorist Faisal Shahzad was so eager to tell how he plotted to kill Americans in Times Square, he went to court with a prepared statement.

US District Judge Miriam Cedarbaum refused to hear him read it Monday, instead challenging the Pakistan-born American citizen to just say "what happened."

In an unapologetic, matter-of-fact courtroom colloquy that followed, Shahzad offered chilling details about how he trained with the Pakistani Taliban to build bombs, then returned to the US to launch an attack that would avenge attacks on Muslims by U.S. forces overseas.

"One has to understand where I'm coming from," he said in an unusual departure from tightly scripted guilty pleas, with his defense attorney and prosecutors sitting in silence in federal court in Manhattan. "I consider myself ... a Muslim soldier."

Shahzad, 30, admitted leaving an SUV rigged with a homemade bomb in bustling Times Squares on a warm night on May 1. The bomb failed to go off, and the Bridgeport, Conn., resident was arrested trying to leave the country on a Dubai-bound flight two days later.

Authorities say following his capture, Shahzad voluntarily started talking about the botched bombing right away -- a pattern that continued in open court, where he agreed to plead guilty to 10 terrorism and weapons counts without the benefit of a plea deal and with certainty he'd face life in prison.

"I want to plead guilty, and I'm going to plead guilty 100 times over," he said.

Until U.S. forces leave Muslim territory, he added, "we will be attacking U.S."

Widely circulated snapshots of Shahzad -- a U.S.-trained financial analyst and married father of two -- show him with a neatly trimmed beard, all smiles and looking carefree behind sunglasses driving a car, or standing next to his American wife. When led into court on Monday, he had on a white skull cap and prisoner's uniform, his beard shaggy and his demeanor full of pride and absent remorse.

Shahzad traced his plot to a 2009 trip to Pakistan that began only three months after he received his U.S. citizenship.

During the trip, he said he sought and received five days' training in explosives from the Pakistani Taliban in the lawless Waziristan region before returning to the United States in February to pursue a one-man scheme to bring death and destruction to New York.

The indictment said he received $ 5,000 in cash on Feb. 25 from an unnamed coconspirator in Pakistan and $ 7,000 more on April 10, sent at the coconspirator's direction. Shahzad said in court Monday that the Pakistani Taliban also gave him more than $ 4,000 when he left training camp.

He explained that he loaded his vehicle with three bomb components, hoping to set off a fertilizer-fueled bomb packed in a gun cabinet, a set of propane tanks and gas canisters rigged with fireworks to explode into a fireball. He also revealed he was carrying a folding assault rifle in a laptop computer case for "self-defense."

Shahzad said he expected the bomb to begin going off after he lighted a fuse and waited between 2 1/2 minutes and five minutes for it to erupt.

"I was waiting to hear a sound, but I couldn't hear any sound. ... So I just walked to Grand Central (Terminal), and I went home," he said.

Authorities say the bomb malfunctioned, emitting smoke that attracted the attention of an alert street vendor, who notified police, setting in motion a rapid evacuation of blocks of a city still healing from the shock of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. At a minimum, police said, the explosive had potential to harm nearby pedestrians and damage buildings with flames and shrapnel.

The judge kept up a steady back-and-forth with Shahzad, questioning how it was possible he pulled off the near-bombing solo.

"You built the bomb all by yourself?" she asked.

"Yes. ... Nobody helped me," he replied.

She also pressed him on how he could target U.S. civilians if his goal was to retaliate against U.S. forces, asking of the potential in Times Square that night, "Did you look around to see who they were?"

"Well, the people select the government," Shahzad said. "We consider them all the same. The drones, when they hit ..."

Cedarbaum interrupted again: "Including the children?"

Shahzad answered: "Well, the drone hits in Afghanistan and Iraq, they don't see children, they don't see anybody. They kill women, children, they kill everybody. It's a war, and in war, they kill people. They're killing all Muslims."

Later, he added: "I am part of the answer to the U.S. terrorizing the Muslim nations and the Muslim people. And, on behalf of that, I'm avenging the attack. Living in the United States, Americans only care about their own people, but they don't care about the people elsewhere in the world when they die."

Attorney General Eric Holder said after the plea: "Faisal Shahzad plotted and launched an attack that could have led to serious loss of life, and today the American criminal justice system ensured that he will pay the price for his actions."

Pakistan has arrested at least 11 people since the attempted attack. An intelligence official has alleged two of them played a role in the plot. No one has been charged.

Three men in Massachusetts and Maine suspected of supplying money to Shahzad have been detained on immigration charges; one was recently transferred to New York.

Federal authorities have said they believe money was channeled through an underground money transfer network known as hawala, but they have said they doubt anyone in the U.S. who provided money knew what it was for.

Sentencing for Shahzad was set for October 5.

Most Civilized Humans find the idea of supplying arms to a coward state of Israel who uses them to kill unarmed civilians a disgusting idea Or do the Americans ask themselves what have we done to Iraq?

And a word of advice as a American do not ask for what goes around comes around read the history you would not like happening to you what you governments have done to humanity and continue to do so.

This guy is not an extremist as you pointed out extremist blow themselves up not get in a plane to fly first class this so called terrorist is on a payroll of some intelligence agency. i am 100% sure after he goes to ''jail'' you will never hear of him but after few days or months you might run into him in some shopping mall shopping though.

Next time Israel blows up innocent kids and women shopping in there run down blown to pieces stores or begging on the streets cause they have lost there parents to and Americans supplied F16s fired missile show some concern about that too juts as you are to a fail bomb on American soil.

To me any one that kills civilians is an extremist and worse.

I dont see the USA or Isreal just targeting civilians for what ever strange reasons that Islamic Extermist or like this guy did..theres no purpose in it and there would be many more dead if the USA deliberatly killed civilians most Iraqis that died were killed by fellow Muslims then the USA. I know you all keep saying it, but I dont see the truth of it..Now if your lieing and you keep saying the same lie long enough, I guess you and some people might believe it, but to me it just makes you a liar and a fool...the deliberate killing of civlians to me is just a waste, inefficent, cowardly act of barbaric premitives.

While there have been all kinds of terrorism around the world against Americans and U.S. interests, 9/11 represents the most shocking attack on U.S. soil from a foreign force since Pearl Harbor. Conspiracy theories aside, 9/11 galvanized much hatred towards the Arab/Muslim world for such a brazen, hateful, and warlike act. Those images of the WTC in flames are forever imprinted on American minds much like the JFK assassination. Everyone remembers where they were at that moment, and most people at the time thought, “Let’s get those fuckers”. Images of celebrations in Lebanon, Palestine and other countries at our suffering also left a lasting impression.

There is one thing I know for the USA and from I have seen so far do not deliberately target civlians like Islamic Extremist do and I will never surrender my humanity by giving into such people.

dont worry this attitude of blaming all your problems on external entities is a habit of many here even if the truth is dancing naked in front of them. Great comment though.

You do realize that history doesn't start at 9/11. You're talking like 9/11 was an end-all, the worst possible tragedy ever or something. US has supplied Israel with weapons which have costed lives of far more civilians than those who died in 9/11. Most Americans tend to put the deaths of those Palestinian civilians who got killed by Israel as Israel defending itself.

Then there's the meddling of US in affairs of pretty much all Muslim countries.

This is the ground reality dude - this is why US is hated so much. I have been there, I have seen people's opinion and reaction - they don't hate US because it's rich or because of its freedom, no. They couldn't care less about those things.

Then the leaders of America who are authorizing drone attacks on villagers are explicitly violating their mandate and should be held up for impeachment and prosecution.

Can we count on you to start an impeachment movement in the US?

Also, FYI
Crimes of War Project > Iraq Special Edition

Moreover, it does seem to millions of people worldwide that there is indeed a moral equivalence between the tactics of the Americans -- hitting targets from the air and pleading collateral damage as a defense against responsibility -- and the tactics of the Iraqis, who, lacking other means to attack, use their own civilians as a material and moral resource, no matter what laws of war it might violate.

I see the drones as an effective weapon against terrorist in countrys that lack the will, courage, or ability to fight terrorist on their own, where there is one drone today there will be hundreds in the future.

Keep going - this kind of attitude will only dig deeper holes for the US in the muslim world.
