NUST SMME Unmanned Helicopter (NU STAR)

.
You should try doing something more with it.
We built something similar to this a while ago.

Got some neuroscience and informatics folks involved too.

from where did you acquire the fans and the fuselage?

. .
NUST ranks number 95 on Higher Education BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings 2015. Powered by Thomson Reuters, institutions in countries which have been declared as “emerging economies” by FTSE are included in the list as well as the “BRICS” nations of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Yes, among top 100 universities of BRICS, nowhere near 100 in the slot where most reputable Universities of the world are found.

If building what hobbyists and enthusiasts build in their garages is called Science, then I can only pray for NUST and her students. Frankly, I have seen more complicated and innovative projects coming from the high school my son studies in.

Okay, but you guys manufactured the parts in the Uni or ordered?

I can't remember at this point, I wasn't part of the earlier team involved in that, I do recall some parts ordered in, small parts, some manufactured, fans were definitely not made in the workshop, fuselage may have been. Again, I can't really recall.

.
What we did was we approached different departments we asked them to build motors, wings, software, as per our specification (not a big deal) we developed electronics on PSOC board with reference from our seniors (which you don't print in uni).

Then the design was approved by professors whether it can be realized or not. If not why and what changes should be there.

Then we built the model out of the paper. we assembled the things which were given to different departments. That's how most of the projects are done.
If true then excellent

7 Members of engineering dept come up with the rc helicopter honestly thats not something to be proud of. 30 mins endurance or what its all assembly of parts.
Its not fuel efficiency I am pretty sure its more fuel capacity.
Its 10 km range is earned by a wireless long range serving device.

The proud thing would be to design from scratch...

Sorry folks if anyone got hurt !

. .
Congrats to the research students of NUST.

More military funding is needed to perfect the technology.

. .
Less haramkhouri is needed to perfect the technology. Instead of copying a toy, they need to come up with some real thing. Who they are fooling to?

I know what they have made looks like a RC Helicopter but at least they made something & it might be the first step towards success.

yar bohat ban gaye helicopters bring out something new now....
