Masha Allah, Good luck to our dedicated team :)

Mate to be honest i'm also an engineer in the making but haven't built shi* so i'm not one to talk but that doesn't mean one should bring his standards down, what you did was pure buying and assembling. It would only be called engineering if you modeled the design and then implemented it in physical form. Although i commend you for doing this stuff in your second semester, good job!

What we did was we approached different departments we asked them to build motors, wings, software, as per our specification (not a big deal) we developed electronics on PSOC board with reference from our seniors (which you don't print in uni).

Then the design was approved by professors whether it can be realized or not. If not why and what changes should be there.

Then we built the model out of the paper. we assembled the things which were given to different departments. That's how most of the projects are done.

When I went to University, NUST was situated in a 6 bedroom villa in Rawalpindi! Obvioulsy, I didn't much care then, as I don't care right now either......

Universities are not ranked on the basis of nominations, rather on the basis of consistent scientific output in the form of papers in a field that is valued, year in, year out. Till date, I have to see one that has made blind bit of a difference, coming from NUST, or any other institute of Pakistan.

If it were in top "100", you'd see thousands upon thousands of foreign students queuing up to get the sacred Pakistani visa and get admission in a coveted institute such as NUSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTT...... :P

IMHO, anything that Pakistan can actually showcase is, IBA and AKU..... maybe LUMS...... A BIG maybe.

Lo Khan Sahib aap ko admission nahin diyaa tou its not good enough !

Khan Sahib when you went to University; Quaid-e-Azam was still in school ! o_O

Abbb cheezein badal gai hain ! :smokin:

Hurrr waqt grumbling kay bajaiii.....aa kar eik world class teaching institute hiii khol dein Pakistan mein ! :p:

Cheezain nahin..... sirf hakoomatain aur buildings baddal gaye hain........

Pakistani Scientific Community:

Masjid To Bana Di Shab Bhar Mein Iman Ki Hararat Walon Ne Mann Apna Purana Papi Hai, Barsoun Mein Namazi Ban Na Saka!

As an academician I fully agree with your assessment. IBA, AKU (I taught there), and LUMS used to be good; IBA perhaps still struggling to maintain the standard though her heydays are long gone, AKU is not about any research but simply teaching, and they are not too bad at it, and LUMS, its standard has gone down significantly over the years. Is there anything else we have to showcase, perhaps not. Besides, why go too far? the overall standard of Pakistani education, is this not already evident from the posts here?

Yara, I'm a man of science......... never knew humanities and finance had cutting edge technologies that had to be kept-up with! :D

Khan Sahib; invest in Pakistan....build Universities, open world-class business here and get your butt back to Pakistan ! :argh:

such products are basically have building block already available in the market. You just need to build the system model. That's what engineering is all about. Min Cost Max Output higher reliability.

You should try doing something more with it.
We built something similar to this a while ago.

Got some neuroscience and informatics folks involved too.
