NSG’s ‘future soldier’ programme to be revived with Make-in-India twist

This is why I'm say8ng ditch drdo and tie up with private companies who can involve with foreign vendors. DRDO guys are just there for salaries
With all due respect, what utter cr@p bro. There is no private entity in India that has even 1% of the R&D expertise as the DRDO nor is any private player outlining that they are stepping up their R&D efforts in leading technolgies, the only thing they can do is tie up with foreign leaders in the feild and utilise their expereince but as this article rightly points out, no foreign leaders in this domain are willing to share their cutting edge tech with India.

DRDO is not a single entity, it is a organisation made up of 100s of labs and institutions all over India and they have induvidually acheived unmatched successes. Without DRDO India would still be dependant on foreign OEMs for pretty much every requirement, thanks to the DRDO the indigenious content in the armed forces is around 30-40% and increasing every year. They have had failures sure but their accomplishments speak for themselves.

The thing is, the private sector doesnt want to ditch DRDO. They are actively using DRDO to develop products. This new trend is a good one, we're seeing PPP projects right now that have been prototyped ahead of schedule.

DRDO isnt going no where, but the idea of them handling every single project has to end as well. That will slowly happen.
