A special team of NSG officers will be travelling to Bangladesh to “analyse and study” the bombings at an Eid prayer gathering today and the recent terror siege at a high-end restaurant in the neighbouring country.

Officials said the team of National Security Guard (NSG) officers have been authorised by the government to travel to Dhaka after the Special Forces establishment in Bangladesh approved the formers’ request to visit the spots of the terror attacks for a first-hand understanding of the situation.

The team, which includes NSG experts in post-blast analysis and counter-terror operations, will study the July 1 incident where terrorists laid siege at a bakery and killed 22 and also analyse today’s bombings in Kishoreganj area in Bangladesh.

They said NSG wanted to study the scenario, in coordination with their Bangladeshi counterparts, as getting an insight into them will not only enhance counter-terror cooperation between the two neighbours but also add value to the operations knowledge of the elite commando force.

NSG is the federal counter-terror and counter-hijack commando action force of the country that was raised in 1984.

The team, it is understood, will be in Dhaka over the coming weekend and will gather leads for “analysis and study” of the two terror incidents.

Officials said NSG teams have travelled to some other friendly countries in the past as part of their charter to effectively prepare against terrorist incidents.

Radical Islamists today hurled crude bombs and engaged in a shootout with police in Bangladesh, leaving a policeman and a terrorist dead at Sholakia in northern Kishoreganj district where at least 200,000 people had gathered for Eid prayers.

The latest incident comes after last week’s deadly attacks in Dhaka which killed 22 people mainly foreigners including an Indian girl.

This type of interaction is the need of time.India have much experience at countering insurgency and terrorism. Our internal security forces need to learn from India,China,USA,Indonesia on how to combat this deadly menace of islamic terrorism.I have to admit, our internal security forces have much deficit at countering this type of terrorism.Their weapon,communication,co-ordination and knowledge about internet based crime is still very inadequate. For strengthening BD's internal security forces, international exposure might be the single most crucial factor.

Good to see them being proactive, I was interested to learn recently that the NSG conducts an analysis of all terrorist attacks worldwide on a weekly basis and sends teams to those sites if deemed necessary to garner more first hand information.

Strange..

This thread is an hour old & the usual RAW, Brahmonical, hegemonic stuff has not yet started.

Are the BD die hards losing their touch or is because of Eid ?
No need to bait the trolls bro, this is a pretty standard procedure for the NSG- they have a post-blast evidence response team on standby 365 days a year for exactly this reason.

We have to get the terrorists before they get us.

No nation is safe or secure & this includes those where it is spawned from. In fact they themselves are the first victims.

Am deleting my post.

This is start of indian occupation force in Bangladesh. Entering in same manner -as Sikkim and Kashmir, using a subservient regime to self invite. There are RAB, SWAT and defense forces experts and commandos in Bangladesh, Awami League spent hundreds of millions and and telling the nation is these forces are not worthless. They had been gloated by BDForever, among others, in this forum, what happened to that? It was all lie, was it?
