It is an old problem. After Siraj was defeated, The mainstream history believed that Siraj was arrogant, communal, truce breaker, incompetent, idiotic and deserved to be usurped. Many of the Farsi speaking Sub continental historians blamed Siraz ud daula . Bengali poets of 19th century wrote poems about Siraj’s debauchery. It took 200 years for modern Bengali Historians to refute all those claims one by one and proved that all those pseudo historians before were seeking British money and position. Bengalis never had a superiority complex....because we never got the Marshal Race tag from the masters...we were always pointed out as short dark fish eating weaklings....but what we did (and still do have) is a good brain for politics...not one single sane historian can deny the contribution and influence of Bengalis in the politics of the entire subcontinent...Be it congress or muslim league...we were everywhere....Bengalis in Pakistan never thought they were superior...they were openly discriminated against...they were poorer than their western counterparts....they always acknowledged it...now let me show you another version of history....Indians wanted to stay together in 47...Pakistanis wanted a separate Muslim state in 47....We wanted our separate place way before that...now see we got what we wanted...the end result is what matters the most...and history was on our side.
