Novak Djokovic was this Friday the main star of the Grand Opening of a packed center court of the Mallorca Country Club that hosted the great previous social event with sports stars such as Liverpool's German coach Jürgen Klopp, his compatriot footballer Mario Götze as well as Toni Nadal among many other personalities of Mallorcan social life.

The world No. 1 stepped on the grass for the first time this year in a show match that faced legends Tommy Haas and Goran Ivanisevic followed by a doubles match in which the Serbian and Spanish Feliciano López were joined.

Djokovic, who is rushing his set-up for Wimbledon at the Mallorca Championships that starts this Saturday, was able to play another whole set in the modality in which he will take part in the ATP250, prevailing, along with the Croatian, Toledo and German in the tiebreaker.

The crowd that filled the four bleachers of the Mallorca Country Club center court was delighted with the class that the 2000 Wimbledon champion and the former world number two still cherish. Ivanisevic and Haas also provided fun and relaxed moments for the attendees who took it in good humor.

The anecdote was led by the former tennis player from Split when he asked Marko Djokovic, brother of the recent Roland Garros champion, to replace him in the last points of the show match. The Mallorca Country Club could not get off to a better start after opening its renovated facilities.

Djokovic will continue to train now, awaiting his debut in the doubles draw with the Spanish Carlos Gómez Herrera against the pair formed by the Bosnian Tomislav Brkic and the Serbian Nikola Cacic.

The schedule is really tough, there is only 10 to 15 days between Wimbledon and the Olympics, which is not ideal, but it is not the first time that I am in that kind of situation. I am pleased with the way I am recovering; physically, mentally and emotionally,” said Novak Djokovic in an interview TennisMajors.

Novak Djokovic has never won the Olympic Games in the singles category. He won the bronze in Beijing, in 2008. As a result of injuries and personal issues, many big players have withdrawn from the Olympics and are out of form, respectively.
