NEW DELHI: Norwegian PM Erna Solberg on Monday offered to use the good offices of her country to mediate as and when India and Pakistan find momentum in peace talks and if they seek Oslo’s support.

“India and Pakistan will have to find time as to when they go for talks. But if there is a movement for greater talks peace in India and Pakistan we and other countries can help mediating if there is a possibility,” Solberg told in a query while inaugurating Norwegian Embassy’s green building here.

She will deliver the keynote address at the Raisina Dialogue on Tuesday.

That is very kind of Norway.

After having achieved decades of peace, this is a noble offer they are making.

But there is no dispute that we need to consider external offices for mediation.

Very much appreciated though.

However, we can offer them of our good offices for mediating peace between Russia and Norway - given the latter's forceful NATO compulsions.

Standard statement.
Ahe played safe by telling she will meduate only If Both India & Pakistan agree.
That ia something which will never happen.

Of course, maybe that is something to appreciate rather than ridicule. They are not siding with anyone biasly and have genuine intent of establishing peace.

no there is no such thing mediation by Norway. BUT her words are enough to say:
"I don't think there is a military solution to any situation like this. I think you have to have a popular support. You have to have good trust between the partners in any region where still there is a conflict. [...] What we have learnt is that you have to bring in popular support and by getting women and youth into a peace process and that's when you build a solid peace in an area where there have been a conflict."

Fine passive aggressive trip there. Whataboutery is not actually an argument.

There is a dispute, a very public one at that. So it's always amusing to see Indian officials throwing tantrums at every available platform, only for Indians to then claim there is no dispute.
