For North Koreans,education,electricity,transport, health care everything is free,even food stamps are guaranteed as long as food stock is not empty or running too low.
North Korea is highly orderly and crime free state without much of side-effects of western dominated world.
North koreans overall have it relatively easy than those in south asian nations like Pakistan,India,Nepal Bangladesh,wHere elite few hog all the wealth and privileges.
I don't think investing in service of a Kim dynasty is in any way worse than investing your life in service of every other self-serving politician;dynastic rulers has more mystique at least.

You may have made a mistake. North Koreans prefer to go to China. Only 20k North Koreans went to SK, but more than 500k North Koreans went to China. They live with the help of Korean Chinese. Many of the local police are Korean Chinese, and they will try to avoid checking the identity cards of local people. As long as these North Koreans do not break the law, the Chinese govt pretends not to know.

You do know the US would've bombed Pakistan "to the stone age" if it allied itself with the idiotic Talibs who refused to hand over Osama right?
