Island of Yeonpyeong have been disputed between the two Korea's for years, having some naval skirmishes here and there. But now this has escalated to a whole other level, South Korea is scrambling their F-15 and F-16 Fighter Jets, in case this situation escalates. North Korea is just flexing their muscle, having a GDP of 27 billion dollars, 10 billion of it going to maintain their army. With their economy in shambles, and spending almost half your GDP on army that's just on standby. Might as well act on some threats they've been saying over the years, now they have the Worlds attention. Well see how this progresses but in the end. North Korea will not fall, or Chinese will have influx of backlash immigration of North Koreans in their country, as well as having a U.S presence at Yalu River (Chinese Border).

N. Korea threatens continued strikes on South
2010-11-23 19:34

SEOUL (AP) -- North Korea is threatening to continue launching strikes against South Korea if it violates their disputed sea border ``even 0.001 millimeter.''

North Korea's supreme military command said Tuesday that it would ``launch merciless military retaliatory strikes.''

The warning was carried by North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency.

The comments followed North Korea's bombardment of a South Korean island near their disputed western border Tuesday. South Korean officials said the barrage set buildings ablaze and killed at least one marine after the North warned the South to halt military drills in the area.

SK President definitelly wants to de-escalate.

Statement of USA already appeared:
"We are in close and continuing contact with our Korean allies," the White House said in a news release. "The United States strongly condemns this attack and calls on North Korea to halt its belligerent action and to fully abide by the terms of the Armistice Agreement."
"The United States is firmly committed to the defense of our ally, the Republic of Korea, and to the maintenance of regional peace and stability."

I have a bad feeling about this. This dude (Kim Jong Il) is C-R-A-Z-Y.

There's no telling where this might lead.
