Nordex Sells 100 Turbines as Pakistan Plans Wind-Power Boost

Could have been cheaper, had you people bought from across the border - India.

And how would have that been possible?

My suggestion to you would be to, stop showing off and boasting for your country, we bought it from somebody else Can't bear it?

Areesh, definitely not interested, just ignore him now.

And how would have that been possible?

Indian prices are cheaper than europeans - common sense.

THe way you are buy Indian goods through Dubai - you could have done the same to save some money.

Wish it could have been that simple.

Quality, maintenance, terms of contract and everything.

Suzlon has plants in Belgium n China, who could have taken care of maintenance.

If Americans are buying from Suzlon, so what Quality are we talking about?

read the OP, Nordex official said that Pakistan is the most important market after China in Asia, so definitely they came in with a plan. Suzlon could have come forward as well.

Are you trying to indirectly implicate that if it ain't installed in India, it is not good.

Nordex also has production facilities in China.

Sinovel a Chinese company is the second largest company in the world. Could have contacted them as well.

But there would have been some pros that went with this company, so good luck to this project.

But its a price factor according to you:

250 Million euros is the cost, so not exactly really cheap.

^^^^^^^^^^

What u wanna say???????

Is it that pakistan should have purchased wind turbines from India???????

And yes i agree with you that "Suzlon Energy" is one of the top manufactures of wind turbine in the world they even export to china and USA.

250 million euros for 100 turbines is too damn expensive..only god know how many people made kickbacks on this deal!

The costs for a commercial scale wind turbine in 2007 ranged from $1.2 million to $2.6 million, per MW of nameplate capacity installed.

Most of the commercial-scale turbines installed today are 2 MW in size and cost roughly $3.5 Million installed. Wind turbines have significant economies of scale. Smaller farm or residential scale turbines cost less overall, but are more expensive per kilowatt of energy producing capacity. Wind turbines under 100 kilowatts cost roughly $3,000 to $5,000 per kilowatt of capacity. That means a 10 kilowatt machine (the size needed to power an average home) might cost $35,000-$50,000.

How much do wind turbines cost? | Windustry

Using the above approximate values, for the declared 250MW total installed capacity:

@ $1.2 million/MW = $300 million

@ $2.6 million/MW = $650 million

Current estimated cost for the turbines: $345 million

I'd say that after we factor in the entire cost of the projects, the price appears reasonable.

the benefit would hopefully outweigh the costs --being renewable energy, i dont see why it wouldnt

Hi,

Here is my insider info on one of the wind turbine projects-----. In Pk----averge wind speed is round 6----10 MPH----these turbines are optimal for 15--20 MPH base wind speed. The results are not the best---.

So---another screw up----.
