Earlier today, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry announced Pakistan will soon open the Kartar Singh border for Sikh pilgrims and allow them to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur without having to obtain a visa.

"A system has been formed for the pilgrims entering Pakistan," Chaudhry noted.

Hope that system's secured like Torkham Border otherwise we'll be receiving a few dozen Kulbushan Yadav's disguised as pilgrims.

Positive news. It's not a big corridor. Kartarpur is only a couple of km from the border so should not be too difficult a task for the authorities to keep an eye on the yatrees.

Exactly, I am also concerned about the security arrangement. Definitely, visa policy and security check should be followed as per SOPs and the count of pilgrims should be registered both on entrance and leaving and none should be allowed to visit any other place than the designated destination.

Actually, this is appeasement and will be taken as weakness by the enemies to the east.

The central hindu govt is seeing this as a conspiracy from Pakistan to please the Sikhs and help khalistan movement. If you see it has not been welcomed by the central govt and the ugly wrinkled face sutma swaj is silent like an old rat. Only Sidhu has welcomed it.

It depend on number of days the border remains open. But 1 million is most realistic number if the border is open for one week.

Pakistan should setup special Trains for Sikh community and setup residential hotels for their stay etc for 5-6 days for their visit
