No relations with America at the cost of national interest: Foreign Minister

Really? just because we don't live in the US doesn't mean we don't know what shit goes out there. Did the US government did a second enquiry on 9/11 despite millions of US citizens and especially engineers ripped their original findings?

General US public has no clue what goes about in politics for two reasons. a large majority is dumb and ignorant enough to not give a ****, the remainder are in a 24/7 rat race to survive on day to day hence don't really care. that leaves a very small portion of paid trolls on social networking sites that also knows nothing, but have to parrot what they are told to keep making money.

Have a great day.

The big hole in your logic is that Americans have freedom to debate what's in America's interests, while in Pakistan ordinary citizens risk being prosecuted or "disappeared" for being brave by challenging the status quo, while Pakistani politicians must weight their fear of assassination, kidnapping, or coup for doing the same.

.
The minister is scrupulously avoiding discussion of what exactly is Pakistan's "national interest", a form of strategic political ambiguity that goes back to Jinnah.

Not participating in the War on Muslims which has cost Pakistan 70,000 lives and at least 100 billion dollars.

Your statements apply only to White America which makes it an exclusive club. Black America remains besieged. Ergo, Black Lives Matter.

Some staffs are intentionally kept ambiguous!!! Only time will reveal it, and time isn't without its MASTER....

Not being part of War on Muslims which has cost Pakistan 70,000 lives and at least $100 billion dollars.
And, Allah-u Azimushshan will compensate that by 7 to 70 times in this world insha'Allah!!! And, who's better than HIM in keeping promises?????

Excellent stance. National interests should always be foremost regardless of the country. That should be first principle for foreign policy.
Unfortunately, the field of maneuvering is getting constrained for this administration - be it domestic or international...

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has unveiled Pakistan foreign policy vis a vis America.

He said Pakistan wanted to improve relations with the United States but not at the expense of its national interests.

Speaking at the floor of the Senate, the minister said weightage will be given to the opinion of the people as well as the elected representatives while taking forward relations with Washington. He said national security and the foreign policy were interlinked and “we should demonstrate unison on them.” “Political differences should be kept aside on national security and foreign policy matters. Given the challenges facing the country, only unity can strengthen our voice,” he maintained.

Responding to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Raza Rabbani’s request for reply on telephonic conservation between Prime Minister Imran Khan and US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo, Qureshi reiterated, “US State Department readout regarding the phone call was contrary to facts. The conversation between PM Imran and Pompeo was cordial and constructive in nature.” The press release issued by Pakistan on the conversation is based on facts, he upheld, and also shared that Pompeo is expected to visit Pakistan on September 5.

Speaking in the Upper House, Finance Minister Asad Umer cleared the air regarding seeking a bailout package from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). “The government does not intend to approach IMF for now,” he announced, adding the statement of US administration pertaining to bailout package was unnecessary. “Even if Pakistan goes to the IMF, this won’t be the first time that Pakistan has opted for the program. We have gone to the program 12 times previously,” he said.

Asad Umer acknowledged that country’s economic situation was on ‘life support’. “We will put the situation in front of public and consult the parliament before making any decision,” he maintained.

Well, we need to have strong nerves since it is the game of nerves..if we blink they will hit...however the more important is to keep the local media bridled and that is the achilles of heels for this govt. I have some reservations but Fawad Ch. I personally think Shaikh Rasheed will be a much better information minister than the current minister who lacks the guts.

Yes that's a practical step...until then it is empty rhetoric.

Since when India is trading through Pakistan? Get your facts right and avoid spreading disinformation. I think as soon as Musharraf left, no Indian trade has been allowed.
Which Pak can have better nerves than Imran Bey????? When he was young and restless, he used to regularly jolt the willows of the white blokes and took their women for a "joy ride"....

Witness the policy change regarding US since a while. It is clear & open to understand that the Do More has been rejected and Pakistan is pursuing towards independent policy. Rest about details of development in this regard, observe regional cooperation, building ties with countries like Russia and Pakistan succeeding to advance its relations with many countries. Currently, Afghanistan is the key word and depends how well one can play this time.
Isn't Imran Bey's primary qualification is that he indeed could play the game of cricket, belonging to the British Imperialists, damn well??!!????

. .
He is even well aware of inside out of westerners due to his cricket life and education.
The Battle of Waterloo was won at the playgrounds of Eaton - a British saying

Eaton is a boarding school which used to train the top Imperialists....

No doubt U.S. public consent was manufactured for Iraq war through the WMD lie and for Vietnam war through the Tonkin Gulf lie.

Have a good look at the condition of Pakistan's economy, and how it is being sustained. Pakistan first approach with loans from other countries? :disagree:

Respect is earned, not "demanded."

FO simply playing the tunes for domestic consumption. Foreign entities are not stupid, and neither afraid.

SMQ have openly confessed in a press conference that Pakistan will NOT risk joining FATF blacklist. Want me to share video?

Pakistani government will certainly voice its concerns to American delegation but the latter will make its stance on certain issues very clear as well (why do you think that General Dunford is in this delegation? For muscle-talking - should the need arise). Public will be conveyed a censored version of "discussions."

Nothing new here.

USA without us nothing

You are immature in assessing these matters. Does a lion fear a pack of wolves which are not even healthy?

USAF Jets take-off from Incirlik airbase in Turkey to strike at potential targets in Syria and Iraq while Erdogan administration pretends to be tough with Americans for domestic audience. Americans have conveyed to Erdogan administration that it has to choose between S-400 and F-35 (cannot have both while being in NATO), and to release Andrew Brunson or face economic hardships. Doesn't seem like Erdogan administration have intimidated US one bit.

Iran have a lot on its plate already with water crisis, civil unrest and re-imposition of crippling sanctions which will go into effect in November. Iran in no position to fight a big war with a powerful country.

Pakistan have its own set of problems with poor economy, fight against terrorism and troubling Afghanistan.

China cannot even stop USN incursions into SCS and safeguard DPRK, let alone intimidate US in the Arabian Sea. Do not forget that India have a big say in Arabian Sea, and openly courting US in this sector.

Do your homework before you jump to silly conclusions. You do not threaten US of consequences in terms of hard power.

pentagon is already know the issue but mad trump is not understand the global issues he is a bussiness man
Pentagon and Trump administration are on the same page on many fronts.

Pentagon just have a soft corner for Pakistan and Turkey due to a lengthy history of working relationship with the two. This is the only lever for Pakistan to pull in difficult times.

Pakistani government is looking forward to have a mutually beneficial relationship with US; mutually beneficial = interests of both countries taken into consideration.

You know I disagree with you many times and I feel you give a "depressing" view to Pakistanis ...but you are right some times...most Pakistanis do not realise the power the US has.... they really don't...this is not to say it will last forever...but it won't be Pakistan that takes them out.... or Muslims nations... it might have to be a "Divine Miracle"... Although I would still advocate Pakistan develop the capability to defend herself from an existential threat from the US like she received in 2001....

If Pharaoh of Moses (PBUH) was alive today and saw just the US Navy, he would worship them as his Lord God...that is how powerful the US is...

Or to give a more recent comparison, when the Sun never set upon the British Empire, the British controlled every strategic naval port of the World...and they mainly did this by the power of the Royal Navy...which was meant to be as large as the next two navies combined....guess what the US achieved...at one point she had 13 times the tonnage of the rest of the navies of the entire world combined!

Respect is earned, not "demanded."

And is it 'earned' by bowing down, the way Arabs have earned the 'respect' of the zionazi state? You must have a big stake in the US. Is it your children studying in the US or your business?

You are immature in assessing these matters. Does a lion fear a pack of wolves which are not even healthy

Your lion hasn't yet lived up to its threats regarding NK. NK is still there after playing a little game with the moron in White House. So, the definition of a lion is actually quite flexible. You see, even a monkey like modi can be described as a lion, his goons do that, don't they?

Who is trying to intimidate whom? A lamb never tries to intimidate a wolf. Only people like you spread this kind of propaganda. Let's face it, you work for the wolf, hence, this peculiar attempt to twist what is as obvious as daylight.

Iran in no position to fight a big war with a powerful country.

Iran doesn't need to. The world for its own sake will do it for Iran.

China cannot even stop USN incursions into SCS and safeguard DPRK, let alone intimidate US in the Arabian Sea. Do not forget that India have a big say in Arabian Sea, and openly courting US in this sector.

India has such a big say in the Arabian Sea, now tell me, isn't tiny Maldives very close to the Arabian Sea or is it somewhere in the Pacific? As for China I haven't seen your lion yet recognize Taiwan for some strange reasons. Could it be some kind of extreme 'anxiety'? Listen guy, those of us who oppose your lion, your fear mongering won't ever work. We know what your fvcking lion is capable of, so for good reasons we call it a chameleon.

Respected Shah Mahmood, please deal with the US so called embassy which is a fortress & a terrorist sponsoring hub in Pakistan along with all sorts of illegal intelligence activities they have been involved in against Pakistan. By shutting the fortress down, many of Pakistans internal problems will be solved automatically.

.
I guess what US and to that point whole world is asking from Pakistan is to act against terrorists (of all kinds). I don't understand why it is so hard to do that given Pakistan's stand is we do not support terrorism as state policy and the UN banned organisations/individuals are non-state actors. If that is so...what is stopping Pakistan to act against them....unless they are actually the core component of "National Interest".

I see FAFT blacklisting on the way now.....
