historically, yes; socially, no. Indians and Pakistanis value different things, simple as that, so to say that Pakistanis and Indians are the same people is misleading. If Pakistanis and Indians were exactly the same, there would be no Pakistan, as no one would be advocating for a separate Muslim nation.

What a moron Pakistanis are from Arabia not Hindus

They are Shek class I think . Pashtons are from aganistan . Pakistanis are not Hindus or Indians ... ideology are not b same atall

The very name 'Bharat' - from Aryabharat (Aryavarta), excludes their land. The name Hindustan only really implies the northern half your country; as does the foreign name India only really apply to the lands east of the Indus river, but not really all the way to the South. Everything that is ever marketed as being Indian (a good example being the cuisine) is mostly from the North and the list truly goes on.
Yet, despite all of these technicalities, the word 'India' and the term 'Indian' refer to the entire republic - and then you want us to call ourselves the same as, and feel related to you 'Indians'? I don't think so.
That is all.
i. Bharat does not actually come from Aryavarta, similarity in the name notwithstanding.
उत्तरं यत्समुद्रस्य हिमाद्रेश्चैव दक्षिणम् ।
वर्षं तद् भारतं नाम भारती यत्र संततिः ।।
"The country (varṣam) that lies north of the ocean and south of the snowy mountains is called Bhāratam; there dwell the descendants of Bharata."
ii. Hindustan is also of foreign origin, as is the word Hindu.
iii. You say you don't feel related to Indians. I totally agree with you. Pakistanis and Indians today are different people.
iv. As for the cuisine, it varies greatly even within a state. In Kashmir we have once cuisine and in Ladakh we have another. It is very difficult to explain the source of the sense of unity, despite all differences. Traditionally Dharmic faiths have played a very serious role and does so even today. A Buddhist from Tamil Nadu for example will hold Bihar close to his heart, because there's Bodh Gaya. Just as a Hindu from Kashmir will have a special place for Kanyakumari. Even the North South divide is a myth. The similarities are massive, we eat the same food, use the same spices, wear the same clothes, worship the same God etc. Only major difference is the North part suffered multiple and sustained Islamic invasions and rule while the South was spared to a large extent. The cuisine in the North like the Mughlai ones, the dress like the Shalwar Kameez etc are considered of being of Northern origin. But in reality these are totally foreign to this land. In places where the invasions did not reach, for example Assam, Sikkim etc - the native cultures are intact and again...there are more similarities with the far South.

In the end, it is true that now there are some minor differences, but we can't be carbon copies of one another now, can we? :) We choose to focus on the similarities we have with each other than on the occasional lack of it.

Haha Imran Khan not to worry bro . No one can find any similarities now . It's done. I think Pakistanis are Arabs

Dear Indian members,

Please draw similarities with Baloch, Pashtun, Hazaras, Seraikis of Pakistan which make more than half of Pakistan. Or else please come to terms with our existence as a nation. No one donated his land for us. We were living here for thousands of years and it was our land. Our ancestors did not like you people so they decided to draw a border. We never regretted their decision. Even when a part of us separated, they never thought of going back to India. Please try and understand, we dont like living with you.

Sincerely,
From Pakistan
dear,Pakistani member.
similarly,,,,we dont share any similarities wid u......whatever similarities exist,,,they exist between north Indians n eastern Pakistanis....

Isn't that Blasphemous in Pakistan?

I hope she's not hunted down for this.

Why do you even argue about ancestry with them?
I just love to watch Pakistanis scream at each other and quarrel and question who they are. It is so much fun. :D

The whole evil-joos, turko-arab-persian theory, the qasim-conquest, their whole we-are-better-looking-than-you-race concept.... it is fun! :D

Certain parts of Sindh and Punjab share some commonality with Hindustan. That is due to the border proximity. KPK and Baluchistan are a different story. They are different in every aspect. They are ethnically different. They speak different languages. KPK and Baluchistan are regions which share traits with Central Asia and other neighbouring countries.

Thank God, we're different nations and the border divides us. Anyone claiming that Pakistanis and Indians are similar need to have their heads re-examined. Pakistanis are ethnically a very diverse people. Something we are very proud of.

You are right Muslim- Pakistani. Pashtuns & Balochs cannot be really considered as true Pakistanis hence the trouble in the region.
