Things people do for selling their books and publish their articles!
Indus valley civilization has been different from that of Ganges civilization. Similarities yes, differences? Again yes. Just the way culture changes as you move in any part of the world.
However, more than half of Pakistan is west of River Indus and that area is distinctly different than India in every possible way a culture can be from other. Such "experts" often consider Pakistan as plains area east of Indus. What about Pashtuns, Baloch, Hazarajats, Balti, Gilgiti, Seraiki, Makrani, Hindku, Kailashi etc who don't share much with Indians? Are they not Pakistanis? In fact Baluch traditions have such a humiliating status for Hindus that if propagated in India, they will forget their support for Balochistan Insurgency.
Unfortunately media has lot more influence on larger population and shapes their perception to a specofic mindset. Projection of such money lusting "experts" is part of that. She might have never seen Pakistan west of Indus.
