It is v sad to say that Pakistan Army is not giving importance to I.T is the age of development. It is very shameful to think about an army having doing nothing R&D in filed of Computer Sciences for its own benefit. Not a single dept is in army regarding this field. In NAVY and air force things are same.We only purchase software from other countries and then we do updation and other stuff regularly from these countries. We never thought of building our own softwares...:(

PAKISTAN: Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Kamra, a unit of Pakistan military, is set to launch Takhti 7, an android tabled-computer, reported ProPakistani on Tuesday. The first three products produced by PAC are a computing tablet (PAC Pad1), a notebook (PAC nbook 1) and an eBook reader (PAC eBook1).

The PAC Kamra, whose self-described mission is “to produce and support weapon systems for a high state of operational readiness of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF)” has partnered with a Chinese company Innavtek International to produce Takhti 7, a better form of PAC Pad1.

The report said that Takhti 7, priced at Rs15,500, has an enhanced hardware with a double RAM and better ARM Cortex-A8 processor, and also boasts of a 7-inch capacitive screen and improved battery time. It also uses Android Ice Cream Sandwich instead of Android Gingerbread used by the PAC Pad1.

However, PAC is still struggling with its sales network. Earlier a PAC official told The Express Tribune that the products were initially being marketed in Rawalpindi, but modalities needed to be finalised so it could expand to other cities including Lahore and Karachi.

“We will get in touch with courier companies to see if we can reach a deal to transport them,” he said.

I don't think any army, Air Force or navy would like to discuss their capabilities in public. I believe these are closely guarded secrets.

a completely wrong statement by a new member. this is the case of past. Army has taken steps to enhance the IT department. its just that details cannot be dissclosed in public. and am 100% sure what i just wrote. period.

Get Stuffed !

So you thought u are know it all, and had to come to this site and open an account just to tell the world how ridiculously stupid you are.

What do you think C4I stand for ? and why did C3I changed to C4I ? what is the extra C for ?

PA is producing her own software engineers since 1995-96 and before that PA was reliant on sending officers abroad, and yes we have RnD departments of our own in each and every field you can imagine.

So darling again, climb a pole, get stuffed.

I see @Leader and @funtoosh also couldn't resist talking about what they have no knowledge of.

The IT phase had been slow in the overall Army sphere and was mostly restricted to the Administration and accounting procedures with very little networking.
However, the Current COAS is a massive technology buff and it was under him that Tablets, Networking, C4I and Joint operations took hold. Initially pictures put online by Army personnel to Facebook profiles were frowned upon but it is now the norm.
So the IT change within the Army is as much due to a generation change as it is to a doctrine.

Again, Wrong.
Example BMS
Example Autoloaders
Example Auto aiming AA gun

You are very well aware of the first two, and I am certain you know the last one too (eme).

What do you mean IT infrastructure? Various R&D departments are even working on IT fields, contributing to the projects at hand.
