Washington: After losing out to the French, the US asserted its F-16 and F-18 fighter jets would have provided India unbeatable platforms with proven technologies, but said it had not offered India more advanced F-35 Joint Strike Fighters (JSF).

oh you guys are calling me out for using the word ''gifted''. My bad ! English sometimes is not good for adding pinch of salt. My bad again

I was just trying to say that PAF received F-16 because of Pakistan's cooperation for WOT. MMRCA couldn't have made any difference to that MLUs or delivery of New F-16 b'52 as the poster was suggesting. It was USA's (kind of) mercy they lifted the sanctions otherwise the payment was even paid in 80s too.
