Chinese universities want to make a good QS ranking position. They invited African and third world countries students, as "internationalization" is one of factors of QS ranking, Thnak to US decoupling China policy, some China prestigious universities like Nanking University have already given up QS. I believe more Chinese universities will follow.

Sport is a very big industry. A few imported athletes could bring huge money. I'm personally against importing foreign athletes.

- Students from the third world countries, do not need much effort, can receive scholarships to high -class universities like Beijing or Qinghua because they are foreigners. The funny thing is that many Chinese students make efforts 10-20 times higher than that of foreign students, they tried despair, but they failed at the end because they lacked a few points. Even Chinese university students are jealous when they see foreign students being treated better than them, better dormitories with air conditioning- ... and many other bullshit things

- With athletes from abroad. It seems that the Chinese government does not have a problem with the history and culture of the country.They feel happy because their sports team is full of white-black and mixed citizens.

And finally the problem of foreign teachers. There are many English teachers in China who are foreigners, but they are not Anglo Saxon. Many English teachers in China come from the 3rd world countries, their skills and knowledge are worse than native teachers, but their wages are higher, because they are foreigners. And there are many cases of foreign teachers (teaching English) have sexually abused sex, rape Chinese female students, then brag and offend China

Things are changing. China has tightened visa for English teachers meanwhile welcomes foreign talents in STEM.

I think Japanese football team set a bad example in adopting foreign athletes. Japanese football rose after in adopting athletes from Brazil. Only good score could attract more attentions. Chinese government want good score first.

None of these can be called as coup. Compared with CCP, Viet Cong is too money oriented. They see the country like a company. Chinese tourists know they have to bribe Vietnamese customs staff otherwise they will not be let in.
