LAHORE: Former governor and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Punjab organiser Chaudhry Sarwar has asserted his party will not seek an apology after the Judicial Commission’s decision as the verdict does not say that the 2013 general elections were held in a fair and transparent manner.

Speaking at the Eid Milan party in honour of Insaf Students Federation (ISF), Imran Tigers Force and other youth wings here on Saturday, he said the PTI had submitted maximum proofs before the commission but its decision was different from the “expected outcome”.

Accepting the decision, Mr Sarwar, however, said that everybody knew PML-N had committed massive rigging in the 2013 general elections to “steal people’s mandate”.

Explaining PTI’s point of view on demands of seeking an apology, he said thousands of murders and crimes were being committed in Pakistan but many of them could not be proved in courts.

“This does not mean that the complainants should ask for an apology from the accused party,” he asserted.

Mr Sarwar said the PTI would continue its fight against corrupt rulers, adding that the PML-N had given nothing to the nation in the past three decades except terrorism, load-shedding, price-hike and joblessness. He said the PTI would hold “such looters” accountable and recover the looted money.

Announcing the launch of election canvassing campaign, Mr Sarwar called upon the youth to get united and assured them that no power would be able to defeat PTI in the poll arena.

Admitting grouping within the party, he said, he urged all groups to unite against their political opponents.

He said the PTI did not want any clashes in the country but at the same time would not be afraid of rulers’ “pressure tactics”. Alleging that the rulers had become goons, he said the PTI workers knew how to deal with them and would even be ready to lay their lives, if needed.

Mr Sarwar said the leadership was reorganising the party to make PTI a strong and vibrant organisation. He assured the youth that all office-bearers of the party were being appointed on merit and added that 31 district organisers had so far been appointed on merit. However, those failing to win workers’ confidence would be removed, he warned.

Following a transparent procedure, he said, the PTI would announce its upcoming local government elections candidates by Aug 15. He said the party elections would be held after the local poll and stressed that every member of the PTI should focus on upcoming exercise.

Mr Sarwar said the floods this year would not have played havoc with the life and property of people in the province, if Punjab government had implemented Flood Commission Report.

PTI Punjab deputy organiser Omer Cheema said the party under the leadership of Imran Khan was fighting a war to save Pakistan. He said the PTI would not allow Shahbaz Sharif to run one-man show in Punjab. He said the PTI would fight for the devolution of financial and administrative powers to the local government institutions. Stating that the rigging in 2013 polls was “matchless” across the world, he added the rulers would not be allowed to fool the masses anymore.

ISF Punjab president Waqas Iftikhar Butt, Youth Wing central president Zubair Khan Niazi, Youth Wing coordinator Chaudhary Waseem and hundreds of youth leaders and workers were present on the occasion.

Looks like contempt cases will be on the rise soon :agree:

Rasi jal gai par Bal ni gaya wo hisaab.. MoU sign kr k mukar gai....

PTI has lost all the credibility. Its the same fucking routine every time. PTI puts forward the proposal for inquiry and when results contradict their liking they start calling investigators unethical and corupt. I am just waiting for another statement that current CJ is another stooge of PMLN. Same thing happend with the last CJ as well.
PTI needs a think tank which can think from their head rather than their arse hole.

Ch serwer was the biggest loser in the failure of dharna saga because his name was being mentioned alonside SMQ for the PMship and thats precisely why his role was reduced post dharnas for an appropriate time to expel him from the party. His greed led him to where he stands today.

Well if a judicial better is lost in an incompetent judiciary means that pmln didn't rigged election. Then Nawaz sharif should apologise to ayyan ali . Shabaz sharif should apologise to zadari . Bcoz all the case made on him during pmln tenure failed as well

When Dr. Qadri launched long march in 2012 over election rigging preparations, than IK labeled him as puppet of armed forces.

Sarwar is correct. Shehbaz didn't want for sarwar to surpass him as someone who puts work ahead of speeches so he didn't let sarwar do anything, his hands were basically tied in PML-N. Iam glad that he's in PTI now and re-organizing it!
