Nitish or Narendra who?

Others need to realise that TN leaders are corrupted but their corruption works for Tamilnadu in the sense they want a piece of TN growth story for themselves and they see to that the TN economy and industries are growing. It is in fact a strength for Tamilnadu whereas didis and commies hang on to the socialism and trade unionism which is not taking them anywhere.

exactly......if dmk or admk loot 50% they atleast make sure the rest 50% are spent on administration.....cant say the same for lalu or mulayam.....as far as commies/didi are concerned....they may be honest......but their destructive far-left policies make that honesty worthless........

im a tamilian and I can assure that both DMK and ADMK are 1000 times better than commies or didi or lalu or mulayam who govern these states....they may be corrupt...but they also are industry and economy friendly...so while they looted some they also gave some decent administration......i would anyday prefer to live under DMK/ADMK than under didi/commies.....

why r you trying too much.....we all know why you hate modi......so please....spare us the effort.

Yeah....we all know why you love him....

Yeah....we all know why you love him....

yes and I will vote based on that.....similarly.....you dont need to justify that you hate modi because of his economic policies ....everyone knows that it is not the reason and also knows the real reason.........

Could be, however commies were not always in power, rather they came to power when Industry was in decline and there was social turmoil. Communism always have thrived best under such conditions.

Freight Equalization Policy has had hit the eastern states pretty hard, there's no denying of it. So when Nitish demands special status, I can't simply just write him off. Heck you get minerals in subsidized price but we have to buy cotton in a higher price, what's the rationality behind it?

Today Kolkata is among the top IT hubs of India despite being ruled by commies and didi, which is simply because it didn't face the constraint of manufacturing industries.

While one will be the PM aspirant of the BJP the other will be that of the third front.

Purely speaking as an outsider. (i do not support either party) Nitish is a more acceptable candidate, he has the capacity to bring together a collation of the right wing and the left together(CPI,CPIM,SP,BSP AIIDMK,JDU). thus forming the third front. it is important to note that modi oppositions is not from outside but from within the bjp party.

who is opposing him inside the BJP?

you are being disingenuous in attributing the lack of growth of bihar, up and bengal to only the freight equalization policy.....fine....bengal also had a port....then why did not industries develop there.......and nobody got minerals at subsidized prices....FEP is simply all states will get minerals at roughly the same cost......and the states with a competitve advantage will utilize it to the fullest.....

i will tell you why that bihar, up did not develop.....the law and order problem......backward social conditions.......violence and caste ridden society and utterly corrupt politicians who did not do anything to try solve the problems.....

when it comes to bengal....its the communist culture of hartals and strikes, viewing big industry as bourgeoisie conspiracy and aversion to capitalism......while the southern and western states embraced capitalism with a open hand, had capable politicians to establish industry and maintain law and order......that from being capital of the country once to being referred to a backward region by the CM of bihar....its a terrible fall from grace for bengal......

sorry...bro....blaming your faults on others is not fair......we all want your states to develop too....but asking forr special status and all is simply incentivising laggardness.......

Advani wants to be PM and failed every single time,Sushma/Jaitley also failed to win elections for BJP,so it is natural that they ll oppose,so what?

whats the big surprise?

Once again I'm not denying that there are other reasons behind such dismal conditions of eastern states, but only saying that Freight Equalisation Policy also contributed to it.

Say if you are an industrialist and you can get minerals at the same cost anywhere in India, would you open a shop in coastal towns of western India which have easy access to energy rich middle east which also happens to be one of the largest trade partner of India or landlocked Bihar or UP and bear the extra transport cost of shipping the finished goods? The question is rhetorical anyway.

We have a port but its a river port which can't entertain bigger ships. But at least we are in far better position than Bihar and up.

Once again my only argument is that freight equalization policy gave western states an advantage and our advantage of being strategically placed to resource rich eastern India was lost and it was in reply to some idiot who's wondering why Bihar and up can't take advantage of their huge mineral resources.

By the same coin, can we not argue that eastern states are closer to ASEAN,Singapore,South Korea, Japan and even Australia.
Doesn't this give you an advantage vis a vis western states who have Gulf and Africa as nearest trading partners?
My post is as much for my education as it is for debate.

Export to Japan and South Korea is negligible and trade with ASEAN only picked up recently after look east policy. Europe and middle east have been biggest trade partner historically. Also you are not taking into account the easy access to energy rich middle East , goi tried Iranian gas pipeline to pump bio fuel to northern and eastern states with no avail.
