sorry to ruin ur party mate but INS kolkata won't even be finished building by this time next year, let alone being inducted。induction into the IN won't happen before 2015 the earliest。:azn:

i think IN top officials traveled all the way to ur home in China just to tell u the precise date of INS Kolkata (that not even Indians know)...... But i assure u mate, the delay is not from the shipyard side but IN wants a more deadlier & more powerful destroyer in it's inventory but it will for sure be inducted by next year, anyways we are inducting 5 ships every year, delay in 1 or 2 should not be a problem. This year IN inducted - INS Chakra, INS Teg, INS Sahayadri + 1 P-24 corvette + INS Vikramaditya will be inducted by the year end, so just chill there is no chance of PLAN making a foray into IOR till IN is here :D :D u should worry about SCS instead b'coz last time i heard that USN was moving 60% of it's assets over there :usflag:

P.S. Next time if u wanna bash India than do it with proof, otherwise don't post ur speculations all over the forum.

.
China doesn't have enough force levels to protect SCS from US Navy and they want to
come into IOR. Isn't getting bashed at one end enough for them?

Let's see if their French-copied boats can protect Shanghai from Railgun pounding from US Navy

Ah, since you have an inside track into the IN could you divulge a few other details?

So is Tomahawk more deadlier or this nirbhay missile ??

Not into much of missiles :drag: , unfortunately

Miniaturisation of turbofan engines for Cruise Missiles and Drones -

TRISHUL: Clearing The Mist On India’s Small Turbofan R & D Efforts & Updates On T-90S MBT Upgrade

1) HAL has developed a Small GasTurbine Engine (SGTE) with a thrust of 373 daN, this has been
tested and demostrated several months ago. It weighs 75kg, this engine can power a drone/strategic
missile to a speed of 0.7 Mach/above.

2) Writer also hints at the development of a standoff cruise missile similar to the Taurus KEPD, maybe
in collaboration with Israel as a further development of its Popeye PGM already in Indian service.

3) Another miniauture turbofan called "Laghu Shakti" develops 400 kgf thrust for UCAVs for IA/IAF/IN
designed for high-altitude surveillance, standoff strike, ocean/coastal surveillance and a variety of roles.

I think the SGTE is for Nirbhay.

Because this is INDIA....I'll believe it when I see it!!!

Until then....

Will have to wait to see. Tom has been in service for decades with a multitude of nations.

But as per what I've heard on the net, Nirbhay will certainly be more versatile and stealthy
than Tom, the "loitering capability" is another plus.

Because this is INDIA....I'll believe it when I see it!!!

Until then....

You should wait...these govt. guys we've got here tend to tempt the people before they show
the real thing:lol:

actually there are 5 nations capable of developing CMs on their own

China,Russia,US,France,UK

I don't think China could really be on this list? Thier miniauture WS-11 turbofan isn't of Chinese origin,
its only a license-built version of the Ukrainian Ivchenko AL-25TLK turbofan. The design rights
for this engine are still held by Motor Sich, Ukraine.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong?

UK does have the capability to develop their own cruise missiles, but they buy tomahawks from the US with a 1000 km + range, meaning the MTCR doesn't apply to them, they must be a special country, with special privileges!

MTCR is a collective regime of a few countries, & is not a binding treaty that is internationally ratified. That’s why the US is free to export its T-LAMs to countries like the UK.

.
we will also enter an elite club of nations capable of developing miniaturized Turbofans for Cruise Missiles

there are only 5 nations capable producing miniaturized Turbofans for CM and India will be 6th

The link says about a Turbojet.

I want to see the same deployed with immediate effect. DRDO is inddeed on the right path. Why Doesn't the Defence Ministry not trying to expand DRDO. We do have to make more indegenous weapon manufacturing to be done. How about an indegenous UAV?

This is what wiki (yeh, I know) says -

The Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) was established in April 1987 by Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Great Britain, and the United States. The MTCR was created in order to curb the spread of unmanned delivery systems for nuclear weapons, specifically delivery systems that could carry a minimum payload of 500 kg a minimum of 300 km.

The founding members of MTCR are free to share missiles >300 Km range.
