Countries develop nuclear weapons to form first strike capability. Then they develop second strike capabilities like nuclear subs. Then they develop nuclear defense mechanisms like ABM. This is the basic nuclear doctrine, that doesn't require a PhD to understand. More complex understanding of the same might require a PhD or masters.
In simplistic terms, a complete nuclear portfolio entails first strike, second strike, and nuclear defence. India's nuclear portfolio has all three components and is thus better than Pakistan's nuclear portfolio weigh only has first strike. By the time Pakistan develops second strike and ABM, India's second strike and ABM would have improved further. So Pakistan would always be catching up to India's nuclear portfolio.
Now conventional wars will not be influenced by this as nuclear portfolio superiority doesn't mean India will launch nukes, and that Pakistan wouldn't retaliate with nukes. These are just components of overall warfare.
Finally I believe as history has proven, all military comparisons will be null and void. The real wars are economic wars, propaganda wars, information wars, and ideological wars. India is comfortable in these areas wrt to Pakistan as of now.
