Air Chief calls on PM

ISLAMABAD, Jan 7 (APP): Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat called on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz at the Prime Minister's House Saturday and discussed matters pertaining to further strengthening of the Pakistan Air Force.

Prime Minister Aziz expressed government's committment in strengthening the professional capabilities of the armed forces of the country. He said the government remained committed to making the PAF impregnable.

He said PAF has a crucial role to play in securing country's air space and guarding the aerial frontiers, adding, the government would provide all necessary resources in this regard.

About the future requirements of the PAF, Prime Minister said JF-17 project was moving ahead satisfactorily. Acquisition of modern technology and expertise would provide additional strength to the air power, he said.

The upgradation and modernization programme of the PAF also came under discussion during the meeting.

I believe when they say upgradation and modernization plan they mean.

For Upgradation:
They mean upgrade of our old F-16s.

For Modernization:
They mean the future induction of JF-17 and new F-16s.

I hope thats not all they mean by this, if they do, then we're in a serious trouble, as they should consider how would our PAF will reckon with the plan of more than 160 MKIs, MRCA plan, Mig-29K for IN, and their induction of weaponry being integrated with various aircrafts.

We need a bigger plan than just this.
