Air Chief calls on PM
ISLAMABAD, Jan 7 (APP): Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat called on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz at the Prime Minister's House Saturday and discussed matters pertaining to further strengthening of the Pakistan Air Force.
Prime Minister Aziz expressed government's committment in strengthening the professional capabilities of the armed forces of the country. He said the government remained committed to making the PAF impregnable.
He said PAF has a crucial role to play in securing country's air space and guarding the aerial frontiers, adding, the government would provide all necessary resources in this regard.
About the future requirements of the PAF, Prime Minister said JF-17 project was moving ahead satisfactorily. Acquisition of modern technology and expertise would provide additional strength to the air power, he said.
The upgradation and modernization programme of the PAF also came under discussion during the meeting.
