New Year Celebrations and Wasted cash

Every year, it is the same story
Every year it is the same set of expectation
Every year there are lot of fire works
Every year the same stupid count down 10, 9 , 8 , 7, 6 , 5, 4 , 3, 2 , 1 you are getting older
Every year each city which organizes fire work burns 1-3 Million Dollars on Fireworks (note it is not just big city even middle size cities do it in western world) the wasted money is in billion


The 31st of December always start in same fashion , you turn on TV and website they are talking about how such and such city burned down 1-3 million dollar worth of fireworks and then another city and then another city and it is the same mindless none sense

The Apes think that just because the earth completed one full circle around the Star it is some sort of achievement

Look the earth has been around for 5,000,000,000 (5 Billion Years) so this dam circling around the sun is nothing exclusive or special it's just a rock going around the run an orbit is completed it is common like an airplane flies from airport to go to some destination very generic and common.

The teachers would be on strike for low wages and lack of support , or they might be leaving profession due to it but Governments don't care they have lot of funding for fireworks because nothing better then , take a match stick and light up a fire work

However , at the end of the fireworks there is just smoke, and realization that you have seen almost 1-3 Million Dollars burned right before your eyes

Sure it looks interesting , a streak of light goes up and then it turns into a miniature super novas parody

But what is the God damn point why are Homosapiens find a need to burn their cash down , when right across Africa there are humans , who don't have cash to buy a loaf of bread or can of milk ?


The media the , internet is always pressuring me that I am missing out on some great spectacle if I did not came out to see the event of burning your money with your own hands


I am leaving work and lady (coworker) goes , oh you will go see the light show in night ? will you be going I am like no lady I am going home and will be enjoying my last 2 days of vacation


Alternative ways to Enjoy a New Year Arrival

1- Stay home , read a nice book and drink a nice Chocolate Milk Drink in warmth of your home, fantastic only 1 buck spent

2- Catch up writing notes to your friends catching up on what happened with them the past year , again no money wasted like for fireworks

3- Tune in into Netflix and watch walking dead

For some, it may be waste of scared resources but alternatively, it may be a job opportunity for a poor.

All holidays should become mass community development days. Where money is spent on the uplifting of the needy not going on shoppingsprees and wasting money on things no one needs.

China and Pakistan should simply be like the US and not light fireworks off on New Years eve. Fireworks in the US are mainly set off on the 4th July. We don't have much of a tradition of setting off fireworks on New Years eve. Maybe NYC during the Times Square festivities sets off a few but that is an aberration compared with the rest of the country.

If China or Pakistan has a tradition of lighting off fireworks on New Years then I think you are correct in suggesting the wasted money would be much better spent on something more constructive like homelessness and poverty alleviation. Firework's money could be much better spent on people who really need it.

?? What are you talking about? I'm the one who agrees with him that fireworks on New Years is a waste of money. Countries that do it should stop and use that money for teachers and the poor...especially if like he says he's watching local tv and city after city and town after town are reporting blowing 1-3 million on them. That's just crazy.

As I said before , gratification of masses with a dose of drugs called new year fireworks , is not needed when you can use the money to give it to poor people who have hit hard time

There is no shame in celebrating modestly arrival of new year you know have a modest dinner with your family or drink a cup of tea

Let's burn millions of pounds worth of fireworks to tear a hole in the ozone layer and then complain about global warming for the rest of the year.
