Russian Vehicle Suppliers are forecasted to have a USD17 billion 10-year market share, unchanged over last year’s forecast. Top programs continue to be BMPs, T-90/72 MBTs, BTRs and T-80 MBTs. Renault Trucks Defense (RTD) displayed a new 8x8 platform named Atom, developed in partnership with Russia’s UralVagonZavod, at the Russian Arms Exhibition 2013 at Nizhny Tagil in September. This partnership, alongside other UralVagonZavod cooperative work with Italy’s IVECO and Oto Melara, is a promising sign that Russia is continuing to open to greater foreign involvement in defence procurement.
