What's new

New Mosque Istanbul

Pays well, good work hours, good potential for growth into other areas because accounting is indispensable to whatever a business is, extremely standardized so an accountant in Turkey would have the same core competencies as an accountant in the UK & yup...you don't get laid off even during bad times ! *well generally* :D

Why didn't you choose to do economics or business management etc.

Why didn't you choose to do economics or business management etc.

Because Economics doesn't pay that well at least in Pakistan ! In fact it doesn't pay at all unless you can get into one of those coveted UN or State Bank of Pakistan or some other International Bank trainee programs. Where else would an economist fit in ? The industry or a multi-national ? No...they've got Chartered Accountants & MBAs for that who know the required amount of economics & yet bring so much more to the table i.e audit, tax consultancy, management consultancy, finance, corporate law etc.

Business Management would be nice but at a Graduate Level hence the MBA program because it helps to have technical know-how at the bachelors level (or thats just my perception) in my case its accounting, audit, tax consultancy, finance & management !

Serious whoever picked the same design mosque are big retards, you could make a fabulous unique design that could be like an important landmark along with other ottoman architecture mosques, but make this differenttttt.

Thanks ! :kiss3:

Yes watched it..I think the architecture of this mosque should be the mixture of Ottoman and Seljuk mixture..

BTW, Emre Arolat`s futuristic project for Sancaklar Mosque:

Sancaklar Mosque located in Buyuk Cekmece, a suburban neighborhood in the outskirts of Istanbul, aims to address the fundamental issues of designing a mosque by distancing itself from the current architectural discussions based on form and focusing solely on the essence of religious space.

The project site is located in a prairie landscape that is separated from the surrounding suburban gated communities by a busy highway. The high walls surrounding the park on the upper courtyard of the mosque depict a clear boundary between the chaotic outer world and the serene atmosphere of the public park. The long canopy stretching out from the park becomes the only architectural element visible from the outside. The building is located below this canopy and can be accessed from a path from the upper courtyard through the park. The building blends in completely with the topography and the outside world is left behind as one moves through the landscape, down the hill and in between the walls to enter the mosque.

The interior of the mosque, a simple cave like space, becomes a dramatic and awe inspiring place to pray and be alone with God. The slits and fractures along the Qiblah wall enhances the directionality of the prayer space and allows daylight to filter into the prayer hall.

The project constantly plays off of the tension between man-made and natural. The contrast between the natural stone stairs following the natural slope of the landscape and the thin reinforced concrete slab spanning over 6 meters to form the canopy helps enhance this dual relationship.

One big-mosque project already ended in a disaster for Ataşehir they have built a classic mosque side-to-side with a skyscraper.

I call this murder on an artistic level:
MTI2MzIyOD-atasehirdeki-mimar-sinan-camiyi-konut-bloklari-golgeliyor.jpeg

But this time they have brought idiocy to a whole new level. Sultanahmet is the only mosque in the world with six minarets. What the fvck are they hoping to accomplish by cloning it?

this is bullsh1t at it's best.. I'm sure as hell this "project" is going to be scrapped.

Instead of a "Copy-paste" mosque, there should have been a "unique mosque". In fact, I do not think we have any capable architect to build a unique mosque like the great architect Mimar Sinan. That is why we copy and paste. The reason the mosque decided to be built there because PM Erdogan was fascinated by Abdulhamid Han Camii which is located on the highest hill in Kahramanmaras (This is our problem, one person decide and everyone has to obey his decision). This is the mosque Erdogan wants to build on Camlica

That is why the "copy-paste" mosque was chosen.

Mosques gots a significiant crowd only in fridays and its only some mosques, if a place has two mosques and crowd fills up them in friday, building a third one is not mean its also will be filled in the same way.

An example of prayer from "Suleymaniye"

Süleymaniye camii ak

Another one

Süleymaniye cami Ekrem Nalbant hoca Sabah Namaz

What kind of logic is this? It seems you have limited knowledge about our religion. In Islam, there is no requirement but encouragement to pray in the mosque for daily prays. That is why some people pray home while others pray at mosque. But, noone can say a new mosque is not needed because mosques are not filled up during the daily pray. The demand must be met when it is necessary. For example, the cuma (friday) pray, eid (bairam) prays are required for men-- also teravih prays during the Ramadan (even if it is not required (farz) but vacip). That is why men must pray at mosque. I am sure you have seen people who pray on the street during the friday pray or bairam prays or teravih prays (I guess you can imagine how hard to pray during the winter and rainy days). That is when the mosque most necessary. If you ask if a mosque is necessary or not you must look those prays not regular prays. Besides most of the mosque get significant crowds not only a few of them. And I agree that a mosque should be built if it is necessary not for show.

The demand must be met when it is necessary

Although i'm one of those who do not believe this is necessary, but if there is a demand/need, indeed it must be met. But i find it disturbing how our government doing everything it can to meet the "demands" of Sunni Muslims while, usually ignoring the other's demands about health, education, economy, freedom, human rights, justice, religion etc... And if one consider this fact with the ideology/intention of AKP, he would find it disturbing too.

Anyway, let's not turn this into another debate about religion.

This mosque is really beautiful, if it is going to be built, IMO it must definetely be this! Can you post the source of this?

Unfortunately, you are right my friend. Freedom of religion must be applied for every religion. That is the true meaning of secularism.

I really do not know if this mosque is needed in Camlica ethier, but that is for sure there is a political choice lays behind it besides demands.

the source you asked
Foto Galeri Çaml

there are also some other example.
