New Iranian amphibious aircraft is operational

This aircraft was officially commissioned to IRGC naval force in Bandar Abbas. it is 8m long and has speed of 257 km/hr. It can carry 6 passengers and was designed and built by Iran's aviation industry.

Sea patrol, rescue missions, detecting and fighting drug trafficking and areal imaging is among the uses of this aircraft.

On topic, congratulations first, thought I'm just curious about why not use a helicopter rather than a fixed-wing plane to finish all the tasks listed...

One of the anticipated roles are sea patrol and rescue, the fact that it can land on the sea and move like a boat helps to get close to the victims and take them on board.
