New film questions India's 'Shanghai' envy

.
hmmm...so the film 'Shanghai' questions India's so-called China envy.

Wonder what the film 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' talked of with the Tiger crouching and the dragon hiding.

lol and we all know which countries are Tigers and Dragons linked to.

.
and this is world affair  its very clear that the quality of this section is decreasing day by day .

.
The film is not about Shanghai..it is about what a shanty, sleepy town has to do become a city like Shanghai..so in a way they are actually saying that behind every 'Shanghai' type city, there is a violent underbelly.

Those who write such articles need to under the context of the movie and relation to title name

Movie Synopsis :

The bustling Indian city of Bharat Nagar is gearing up for an upcoming infrastructure project backed by the ruling political party. Meanwhile, four individuals find themselves tied up into a gruesome game of crime and politics. A shocking and disturbing road accident leaves a socialist professor/political activist Ahmedi (Prosenjit Chatterjee) in critical condition . Ahmedi's adheren Shalini (Kalki Koechlin) believes it to be a premeditated murder. A pornographer (Emraan Hashmi) claims to have documented proof on the mishap that will bring the government down. A high-ranking bureaucrat (Abhay Deol) is brought in by the government for damage control and investigation. As days go by, those involved discover a hidden secret in the governments sector: a vision of a new metropolis, a pipe dream, a dream called "Shanghai".

Shanghai is better in physical infrastructure as compared to either New York or London, but what Shanghai lacks is soft infrastructure, diversity and sophistication; however, Shanghai has the potential to become a pre-eminent city on the lines of New York, London, Paris or Tokyo.

.
Having been to india on a number of occasions the sad wretched reality of it, does horrify one -

. . .
India has its own path. Mumbai will not be Shanghai because they're simply different and have separate paths of development.

For India to truly develop it really has to start focusing on 3 things, Education, Health, and Infrastructure. The only reason why Shanghai is ahead and looks so impressive is because it's got all 3 in spades. It won't be easy, but it can be done. The people of Shanghai weren't always so educated and healthy, and the infrastructure wasn't always so impressive.

India can do the same, but only if you get rid of your politicians which can talk very well, but can't deliver results.

On another point. I don't know why people like Tokyo. It's an unimaginative piece of gray concrete on more gray concrete laden with some flashy neon signs and billboards. Singapore and Hong Kong have much more Character than Tokyo. Tokyo is a good place for restaurants, but as far as architecture and city flavor is concerned... it's abysmal.
