You can definitely ask a US carrier to protect India's coast if India is a true friend, like Japan and S Korea. These countries spend their money on economy. India should do the same.

India is a sovereign country. USA was not there by us, when our country needed them the most. We appreciate it, as it taught us valuable lessons.

It is a bad idea to ignore history.

India migh be slow but not incompetent. If we had to depend on USA we could have easily asked usa to launch our sats from 1970s till now. But we chose to develop our own rockets and now the MK3 will have the carrying capacity of 10000 to 15000kg.

We could have easily become the South Korea of South asia and brace US as our daddy. But sorry bro we will learn to build things on our own.

Looked more or less like a fashion show to me instead of a parade....

India is not a totalitarian military regime like the Soviet Union where only Military Hardware and soldiers/airmen/naval personnel duck-marched with huge array of missiles and SLBMs and what nots.

India's Republic Day Parade is a parade that comprises of the finest units / regiments getting a chance to march in one of the most prestigious events. School children, civilian adults, college students with govt. PSUs are invited to show their talents. Tribes, regional teams representing their dances, attire, floats are invited to display.

A lot of people have grown up thinking that the RDP is a MILITARY PARADE first and then a civilian party. It is both. Fashion show or not, if you don't like it, there is a button on the remote control .. it is called "POWER OFF"

Buddy, Sending HUman in space is past Technology, Sending Probe/ Robots is future. when Robots /Probes do the job why send human?

You are partially correct. US is outsourcing the man space flight to the earth orbits to private corporations. Hope they can do it cheaper. India is still not at the level of these private corporations. But India can rely on these private corporations to send Indians to space. All India has to do is buy a space station and these companies would send the station to space and ferry Indians to that space station.

A few patriotic Indians who chose to stay back resulted in reverse-brain drain.Living standards will improve gradually, I have no doubts about it, but I dont want my country to outsource its security.

Sir the trend is reversing. Like Chinese govt. that is trying to lure back Chinese talent in US back to China, Indian govt. has started efforts to lure Indian scientists working abroad.

If you look at Southern India, you can see that drop in living standard wrt to US or Europe, Indians are ready to compromise as they want live near their family. They are even compromising for few money too.

Economic growth is creating a feedback mechanism in India. Just like it did in China.

Indians may lack nationalism but they have major regard for family relations. They want to be near to their parents and relatives.
