Congrats to Iran.

Russia is refitting a battle missile cruiser and looks about the same, may end up visually imperfect, but at the same time the best attack and defensive ship on the seas.

It is too small to be called corvette by the way. Indonesian Bung Tomo Class corvette even have VLS

again the question that have answered hundreds of time.
In Iran we call military ships by this three name
ناو شکن (Nav-Shekan): Destroyer
رزم ناو (Razm-Nav): Battle Ship
ناو (Nav): Cruiser, Frigate, Corvette, Missile Boat, Patrol Boat

and that's why the naming may seem strange to you for us all of them are ناو (Nav) and whe journalist want to translate the name to english , let just say not all of them knew the difference .

by the way come on that Indonesian ship is 4 time bigger , it's even 25% bigger than Moudj class frigate that at the time is biggest warship we build , you must expect that the Indonesian ship have vertical launch and this don't have that after all it only have a displacement of 450t

this does not mean that a nation defines its ships with different terminologies, for example, even in Russia, military ships are denominated differently from ours.
So if we use the English language here, we will only translate literally from the language of origin.
Then we can eventually change the definition by aligning it with the NATO terminology.
I remain of the idea that military naval units should not be classified by size, but for the mission they are able to carry out with the weapons installed on board.
So if we want to reclassify also the new Iranian "corvette", the name that you used "patrol boat" is not correct, but must be considered as Fast Attack Missiles Boat, the difference is just the 4 Noor long-range anti-ship cruise missile, present on board.

About not using Persian word ,when the question is designation and naming of the ship there is no way around it and how much I look at that post it looks English to me.

.
Both Egypt and Turkey have stronger navies than Iran. This is a national disgrace.
