If our votes means nothing, then explain why did Nixon resigned and how many one-term presidents out there? I do not see the HK-ers calling for China-style authoritarianism. Do you? I do not see China-style authoritarianism being evangelize by China as an alternative governance style. Do you? Instead, we often see peoples calling their governments to be more like, if not identical, to the Western style democratic practices. If our votes do not matter, then explain these inconsistencies. Australian Strategic Policy Institute executive director Peter Jennings said the globe had effectively entered a new Cold War, between China and the world's leading democracies.
