Same thing would have happened to US if it started using Soviet strategy. US would have lost moral support worldwide and Weapons and supplies started pouring to aid Afghans, which would have jeopardize US operations. I don’t think any neighboring country would have allowed US their logistics support to even carry out any operations. Operation would be over before it began.

Hezbollah got pushed back and could only kill 1 Israeli soldier for every 7 terrorists killed.
