This is perfectly OK. This is the airport use tax that you guys still pay when you come to the US and the UK. Its built into the ticket. If they want to form it separately, that's fine too. I travel on a Visa to Pakistan so I am even ok with paying 3000 rupees as a foreigner. All this money is being used to get you out of the IMF and the begging that other countries call Pakistanis out for. Its time for Pakistan to stand on its feet.

Remember, people in Pakistan have become BILLIONAIRES without paying taxes, and that includes your NS's Zardari's and millions of other families doing business. For example, If a family has made 5 million rupees through not paying taxes over years. I think as a Pakistani, as a courtesy, they should declare all assets and pay a penalty the first time to hide all that. They'll get their assets legal and they'll become part of the tax net.

I would like to see Pakistan's saving's account having $ 25 billion dollars worth of cash reserves by 2018. And these taxes are ok. No one travels to Pakistan if they can't afford an extra $ 20-30 dollars man. Let it go and see the BIG benefits ahead for your country!!! Support the system and grow the country. This bit*ching and moaning doesn't suit a growing nation anymore. End these differences!!!

This is essentially an airport tax.....you pay that within the US also, in dollars and it would probably come to the same amount in rupees. The "oversees" Pakistanis are very well established here or are living a much decent lifestyle than when if they would be in Pakistan. So if they have no issues in paying taxes here, why complain about Pakistan??? A country where people have made billions of rupees through tax evasion and all. Average family in a city lives in a house worth a couple of million rupees on average. The PEOPLE of Pakistan are MUCH wealthier than the government, why? because of tax evasion. So please this is peanuts, for both Pakistanis flying from the US, UK or from the UAE, etc. But it will help the country build new airports, provide facilities, and all.

The Obama team has been working on ending or increasing the Capital Gain tax significantly, and ending Mortgage Write-offs which almost EVERY American benefits from and has been for DECADES. How much bit*ching do you see from the American public???? They know it was needed to bring down the debt and that's it.

Well the difference between the west and us, is that they didn't ask for a separate homeland in the name of Islam. Neither are they suffering from rampant injustice. When Allah Almighty blesses you, then the responsibility on your shoulders become even more. SO forget being good Muslims, we are not even good humans.

Hazarat Ali R.A.'s quote is 100% right, because Allah Almighty in his infinite mercy, can tolerate Kufr / disbelief, but not zulm / injustice.

Justice across the board, has always been one of the cornerstones of Islam, which is sadly missing from the equation in Pakistan.

Bhai, my understanding on this is bit different. I understand that this demand was made to cut a fair deal with Congress and the idea was to secure Muslim's rights while remaining in United India. However, following the failure of such a setup, and Congress' refusal to accept the proposals made by the Cabinet Mission, the only practical solution left to prevent India from a bloody civil war was to divide the British India between India and Pakistan. That Pakistan was made in the name of Islam appears to me a later invention. I may be wrong though.

I think Tax already including on the tickets no one has to pay separately. So the OP post is wrong fake unrealistic.

But taxes on Pakistanis are gone redicoulously high. Until and unless government start utilising current resources no tax can improve the situation.

Also, people should demand stats where our tax money is being spend. That should be live so everything is crystal clear.

Pakistan a free country for people who steal taxes and become multi-millionaires by cheating their country, and the nation? People like these should go to Jail.....and that's not a free country. That's a country struggling for Oxygen (taxes) so it can grow itself and its poor people.

If you want a "free" country, you yourself, or may be asking your rich dad, invest into the UK. Go live there and enjoy life and pay about 40-50% of what you make. You'll remember the "luxury" of Pakistan after you live in the UK for like 2 years. People like you should be blessed that you live in a country where you could live like a king for just a decent amount. Hiding taxes and all, may not cause your electric generators to stop. Its STOPS many poor kids from going school, many cancer and heart patients from getting free or subsidized Medical care.

In the US and other Western countries, MANY rich families when they die, they donate money or sponsor University development or scholarships for other kids (and that includes anyone needy, white, blue, brown, Indian, Pakistan, all of them). In fact MAJORITY of Indian kids come to the US, work in research and then work hard to quality for these grants. So a society's rich help its poor. How does Pakistan work????? There is IK's hospital and now SS is opening up a couple of big hospitals for the poor. There are may be a few other things but that's it. But the actual public has trillions of rupees. This is how countries go down. When nations don't care for their weak and poor, they build greed and thrust and a jungle's rule, where big animal eats the small one. Because there is no human goodwill in there. So you need to pay taxes, take responsibility and realize how it'll benefit millions who aren't as fortunate as you are!!!

You are simply unaware of the tax rates in pakistan. The highest tax bracket is 35% and starts from just rs.7 million per annum. Corporate taxes are extremely high at 25% for companies below rs.250m/annum sales and 33% for those above. Sales tax are also extremely high at 17% basic plus more on many items.

You're saying in uk they take away 40-50% in taxes. Well here they can take maybe 25-30%, which is a big amount considering the risks involved in any business in pakistan. And also double digit inflation, rising input costs etc etc.

What stops the poor children from going to schools is the corrupt government and heavy taxes hurting economy.

Corporate Tax in EVERY country starts from 20-25% and goes high. Corporate always pay the LOWEST tax as they continue to spend the money into businesses called a "Capital Expense" so you avoid taxes. You are treating me like I don't know this stuff lol!!! Pakistan can never get closer to the taxes you pay in UK. Since you mentioned corporate tax, tells me you come from that background....so you should be paying minimal taxes as there are so many write-offs to do for you due to capital investments. If you can't use your system correctly and benefit from it, who's to blame? Get a better CPA, pay your share of taxes, save where you can....

UK Definitely has highest taxation and Pakistan is following UK foot steps in taxation. But Four things which are different between UK & Pakistan..

1) Justice in Taxation. Middle class paying highest taxes and those who can avoid it by pass it by criminal means thrives, and Government is not doing anything for such criminal acts. This imbalance is creating hatred among people, classes and alll that hatred then end up on Government.
2) No record of where and how these tax money is being spend. Corruption makes people to run away from taxes. So upper and lower class run away ... And load then end up on middle class
3) Government encouraging indirect taxes, which again increasing injustice in tax collection.

4) Last not the least, In UK, your education, medical, job allowance, tax adjustment makes it more attractive peopl to pay taxes. Which is not the case for Pakistan.
