Need Suggestion:Wants to buy new laptop

.
Don't go for Sony Vaio....not built according to India, you have to take special care, bad customer service....

Toshiba, again same problem, you won't find great combination at good price,

HP ...well two of my friends bought that touch screen version and regret it till now.

Lenovo is so so but as Skull & Bones said, Dell is the best choice. Customize according to your need and as far as service is concerned, when i was studying, my university was 25 kms away from the dell service center but still the guy came the same day.....Look for Dell's extra slim notebook..its great...

BTW do tell what's you budget...

Asus brand is serviced by a group who is infamous for bad RMA policies and excuses. this is true with Asus motherboards and other peripherals perhaps Laptops and netbooks too.

BTW, as someone recommended, buy a model with SSD or atleast make it a purchase option because..more than processor, a SSD can give good performance and AFAIK reliable than a HDD.

Hot ones are Marvell controller based Crucial M4(recommended) or Sandforce based Intel 330/520 series drives
SSDs are horribly priced in local stores last I inquired. You may buy from flipkart or primeabgb, theitdepot like shops although SSD prices in India is way too much than in USA or other countries. Kingston SSDs are really VFM. warranty is safe through online stores than through local stores especially in tier-2 cities. check for Sata-III(6GB/Sec) support with the laptop and buy SSD with Sata-III support.
