That is exactly what i would recommend to ANTIBODY, plus after rebooting system go into real player settings check settings might need redo.

Do let us know ANTIBODY how is hotspot shield working for you if you tired it.

Lol- it is a vpn solution that has kept us jawans alive in saudi arabia- if you know what i mean- -
But it does slow the overall speed with is acceptable-

ive noticed the red/orange light for the first time upon connecting with a lead--- hopefully it's just nothing

I've switched cables , still get the orange light

My internet is working just fine

If this is a normal thing and my port is not damaged then I will be happily deleting the thread

The light depends on the NIC and the speed of the internet

Red, orange and green light suggests the different speed of the internet....

Light indicate the connection speed to the router or the modem...red being the slowest and green being the fastest , orange is somewhere in the lower middle.. Usually from what i know red/orange does not bode well...

ive downloaded a tv series at 110 kb/sec which is the normal speed i get .. the highest being 180 kb/sec

Hopefully ive never noticed before now and these lights were blinking all along

Did you change your router recently? It's not the internet speed it's got to do with, it's your LAN connection type, GigaBit etc etc... nothing to worry about!

Btw, 'port' is an internal allocation of resource, nothing to do with the external physical bay that you plug your cable into. Don't fret it. General rule is, if it's broken, it won't work, therefore, your's is NOT broken!

i don't think its an issue with the port..usually in these case either its a problem with the Network interface card which is not in your case as your internet is still working( only case if the light blinks red in sets of 2 within 30 seconds of being plugged in...

seems like a simple case of the internet speed with the router...usually a simple network driver reinstall fixes it...

ive restarted my internet broad band modem -- still getting the red light

actually it might be there all along ... one of my cable jack which fits in the LAN port had a hairline cut/damage on its plasticky jack.. right at the junction where the orange light was appearing --- so the orange port light and ''damaged'' cable jack aroused my suspicion .. i changed the cable to a new one , still getting the orange light but am using the same internet connection without any lag

I got an automatic windows update just today...
100 Mbps speed

Its working great infact i enjoyed some eric clapton's oldies some days back-- however the real player download icon which i got for 5 seconds on every browser flash video has not come back to my dismay
