I don't think that just because it cost a non-entity 8 lakh to buy that suit, it would cost same to PM of India.(even if suit is of 8 lakh to begin with)

Material+labour cost of such Suit is just few thousand rupees, rest is designer fee + Brand arbitrage. Modi wearing such suit would be most potent advertisement that designer could get. It would also boost demand due to people copying.He would not have been charged an astronomical designer's premium as you or me would have to pay. Even models, sportsmen and actors do not have to pay for designer clothes. Some are even paid for wearing particular brand.
