500 ka card dalwao, toh sirf 300 mileinge!

This will be the most unpopular tax increase - especially now that people are wisening up to the fact that NS is not taxing the rich people and only increasing taxes on the poor.

I know two things in Pakistan are dirt cheap. Cellphone usage and cable. While in the US people pay skyrocketing prices for these two. I just checked my cellphone bill and I pay around 33% in taxes. I don't know the tax rate on prepaid cards or phones since people here mostly use service providers but I'm sure it must be very high.

So, Nawaz govt introduced a 42% tax rate on phone cards which could be negotiated and lowered. But Pakistanis are just beginning to pay high taxes in cellphones, people in other countries have been paying those rates for years. Suck it up and pay your taxes.

wow so comparing america to pakistan

good going man

do you even know how many pakistanis are below poverty line? do you know the income per capita of US citizens and pakistani citizens?

do you know about how much inflation there is in US and in pakistan?

we have a lot of extremely high IQed people out here i guess?

With all due respect, people living below the poverty line, getting a cellphone and a high priced card should be the least of their problems.

It was 20% in Pak, which is not cheap either and in Pak telecom costs are not cheaper than the US.

my dear cellphone is not a luxury, its a need

Yes, it's a need, but not one which you can't live without.

my friend 40% tax is too much even for your US standards, call rates have become higher too

these technological stuff should be made cheaper so that we dont drag pakistan into stone age

every nook and corner of the world had 3G a decade ago and 3G has just entered into pakistan

Look, I'm not gonna say 42 percent is nothing, it's a big tax hike, I'm just saying pretty every other country has been charging people huge amount of taxes in cellphone and cable bills.

So I hope they lower it about ten percent to ease the pressure on public. But honestly speaking, Pakistanis have a bad bad habit of not paying taxes, they cringe and moan on the sound of paying taxes. People in Pak have to get used to start paying taxes.

taxing the mobile credits wont solve economic issues, in pervez musharraf's time there was no tax on this and in his time there was economic progress, the tax was introduced by zardari and we all know those five years of economic situation

every country has different tax policies

first instead of taxing the pooor we need to improve tax collection system and tax the rich, thats the way to move ahead

taxing the poor will only result in moving backwards and nothing else

first our PM should ..when i use to see his tax record i use to wonder why dnt he get zakat .. they raised prices of every thng already ..increasing prices on the calling card will upset the budget by 2 percent for everyone ... look ideally it should happen but people are very poor ..u are sitting in US, looking at it ideally but if u were in Pakistan u would be protesting ..

massive increase in everything including utilities that are required in everyday life. What i fear is that this massive increase will nto come down and the people of pakistan will actually get crushed by the weight of this inflation increase. The poor people of pakistan will become even more poor and this will lead to increase in crimes as people will take from others to feed themselves and their family...... Inflation is very easy to bring. increasing prices if very easy but it is very difficult if not impossible to bring it down. To counter this they will have to increase the salaries of the people and that is also extremely difficult. their so called budget was willing to increase prices while keeping the salaries the same.

Laanat ho laanat!!

Not only are you paying tax on calls you make, but you also pay tax on recharging. This is the most dishonest tax collection system of the world.

.
Hahaha... This is just too much, thanks tind, thank you very much. Why don't you kill the common man whilst you at it.

Cousin got RS 50 on a RS 100 recharge. But why not? People have lived under his government twice already, yet they still voted for this to happen. Let them enjoy the fruits.
