The latest International Republican Institute shows that his popularity has been constantly declining for the past two years. From the high 80s his popularity rating is now in the high 30s. And this was before his latest foot in mouth.
You have been unable to differentiate between the government and the state. Let not the IRI polls go to your head. In actuality your poll numbers have been going down for months.
