What's new

Nawaz Sharif first ever who visited India but totally ignored Kashmiri Leadership

we provide moral support to freedom fighters and will continue to do so....remember that the Kashmiri liberation movement isn't one single faction. You have Mirwaiz faction who arent even calling for the merger with Pakistan. They all have different strategies, but all are united in their quest to rid Kashmir of the ruthless occupation forces and seek self determination

cool story...."defang the PA"

we still retain the heights to 5353 which gives us a very nice vantage point in the event of the future war.....and quite frankly, there never was a broad "western support" in favour of Pakistan though there are "western" agencies and ruling bodies who are very much cognizant to indias genocide/mass murder of Kashmiris

hence the need for AFSPA and other such draconian measures imposed by the so called "largest democracy"

It will be interesting to see how things pan out, undoubtedly

There were those that bought Pakistan's humanitarian line and mujahid story initially in those days. Fortunately for us as those claims fell through, so did Pakistan's credibility in the world.
And it has been a downhill ride ever since for Pakistan.

everything changed after 9/11....

problem with Noora is that he has the habit of falling on his own sword. its a gamble to put so much faith on a the person who has an attention span of no more than 5 minutes and takes ages to decide whether he should leave his bed in the morning or order his specially sourced brunch there.
defang? PA? yea sure.. Noora tried that with the help of Geo but it backfired. even the military wouldnt have expected such unprecedented support and the amount of abuse Geo and Noora league got was soul destroying for the trio ( third partner being the select group of judges who are keeping the military/ISI on its toes).

Mir Shakil was so livid due to the sudden and unexpected loss of grace and business that he is suspecting that Nawaz has double crossed him and sided with the GHQ on the current face off.. he gave a piece of his mind to the Noora goons that went in person to see his highness in his Middle Eastern pleasure pad.

alas India, what a shame, all those millions spent on slowly building hatred and distrust for the Pakistan military over decades has gone to waste. although Noora shares Indian design of bringing Pakistan army to the constitutional role lat the level of Punjab Police but like I said earlier, the issue is with the attention span and focus for Nawaz for which according to Hussain Haqqani, Nawaz needs special kushtsa before deciding on something that seemingly does'nt result in an obvious and quick monetary profit.

the Khakis really dont need to do much because Noora has pretty much limited his scope to Lahore and Raiwand let Alone Kashmir. although himself from Kahsmiri origin he is surrounded by the kind of people who are with him because they provided him with his favorite chaat, ice cream or deserts when the times were harsh on him.

army is sitting quietly in the background and letting this government and its partners make one blunder after another.
Kashmiris have managed themselves without the help of Pakistan army and its politicians and they will manage to fight for their freedom in the future.

Modi gave India's 5 demands on terrorism but why didn't PM NS give Pak demands 4 India 2 stop its support 4 militants/terrorists in Pak?

truth hurts... Modi is a terrorist, you like it or not, it wont change the fact.
What would you then call the people who are causing mayhem in your country ever day?

Its not India that is wasting millions.
Its the public that got tired of dictators from Army telling them what to do. The fact that Musharraf was deposed, and that he was also prosecuted has indicated that the people of Pakistan will no longer suffer coups.

If you and other Army sympathizers disagree with this, it is your prerogative. The Pakistani public has spoken. Nawaz whether incompetent or not, can never be as useless as the PPP tenure. The fact that the Army did not intervene then is a clear sign.

Ofcourse the Army pushes back in its own ways, those are simply pangs of adjusting to the changed realities. In the end, this is going to happen whether you like it or not. The Army will be limited to its Constitutional role. And no that does not mean Punjab police as you derogatorily imply to be that Constitutional role to whip up more pro-Army, anti-democracy rhetoric. It will mean your Army is become limited to what Indian Army is, or US Army or British Army, or any other Army of a modern democratic republic is.

No. Kashmiris have not managed anything without the help of Pakistan. And as we shut down Pakistan's borders more and more effectively, so will the secessionist movement.

PM Nawaz asks India for peaceful resolution of Kashmir

PM Nawaz Sharif said Kashmir remains on the list of unfinished agenda of the United Nations.

MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has invited India to come forward for peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute through negotiations.

Addressing the joint sitting of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and Kashmir Council in Muzaffarabad on Wednesday‚ he stressed that the region will remain in the grip of uncertainty and confrontation as long as Kashmir dispute is not resolved in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people. Non resolution of the dispute will also have adverse effect on the socio-economic development of the region.

The Prime Minister expressed the confidence that the Indian leadership while realizing the sensitivity of the issue will reciprocate to his invitation of dialogue in a positive manner and give right to self-determination to the people of Kashmir.

He said good friendly relations could develop between both the neighbouring countries if India accepts‚ the right to self-determination of Kashmiri people. He reiterated that Pakistan wants to resolve all outstanding issues with India‚ including the core issue of Kashmir‚ through meaningful and result oriented dialogue.

Nawaz Sharif said Kashmir dispute remains on the list of unfinished agenda of the United Nations and this issue has a central place for peace in the South Asia. He said like other parts of the world‚ the Kashmiris also have the right to decide their future with their own free will.
He said Pakistan has taken several concrete steps to reduce the hardships faced by the people living on both sides of the Line of Control. The steps include the opening of the Line of Control to facilitate trade and movement of the people. These steps clearly reflect that Pakistan desires for peace. He said Pakistan is a peace loving country and our desire for peace is also reflective from the dialogue process with the Taliban.

Referring to the strong bonds of love and brotherhood existing between the people of Pakistan and Kashmir‚ the Prime Minister said the sacrifices of those who laid down their lives for independence will not go in vain. He said the unwavering struggle of Kashmiri people is indicative of the fact that this dispute cannot be overlooked. The international community cannot remain silent on the gross human rights violations in the occupied territory. He said Pakistan will continue to raise voice for the rights of Kashmiri people at all forums till the realization of their dream.

Assuring all out support to the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for right to self-determination‚ Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan strictly adheres to its stance on Kashmir dispute that it should be resolved in accordance with the UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Referring to the close affinity between Kashmiri and Pakistani people‚ the Prime Minister said that development of Azad Kashmir is as dear to him as that of Pakistan. He said the government is planning for the development of basic infrastructure in the country. The projects include linking Muzaffarabad and Mirpur with G.T. road through dual carriage-way and extending Islamabad express way up to Muzaffarabad. Besides we plan to link Muzaffarabad with Karakorram Highway.

Speaking on the occasion‚ Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir‚ Chaudhry Abdul Majeed appreciated the prime minister for unequivocally raising the Kashmir dispute at the international level including the United Nations.
He said Kashmiris have rendered numerous sacrifices for their right to self-determination. This very right has also been accepted by the international community.
Leader of the Opposition Raja Farooq Haider also spoke on the occasion
