Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman, Imran Khan, on Saturday took to Twitter, saying that there was a “conflict of interest” for a business associate to arrange a meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

The PTI chairman, however, welcomed the revival of relationships between the longstanding arch rivals.

“We welcome the thaw in Pak-India relations, but to have a business associate arrange the two prime ministers’ meetings has an underlying conflict of interest,” he tweeted.
Referring to an earlier secret meeting between the two leaders, he said, “Meetings of the two prime ministers, from the secret meeting in Kathmandu to the one in Lahore, must be done through institutional frameworks with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the loop for sustainability.”

Further, Imran said that such meetings held between the prime ministers undermines a process whereby tensions can be eased, and raises questions and conflict of interest.

The remarks come a day after Modi made a brief surprise visit to Lahore where he met with PM Nawaz and visited his residence in Raiwind.

It was the first time an Indian premier had stepped foot on Pakistani soil in more than 10 years and was seen by analysts as a step towards normalising ties between the two neighbours which have fought three wars.

If Nawaz Sharif meeting Modi is 'conflict of interest', then what the heck is this?

Hope IK has taken 3rd umpire into confidence before making these kinda statements. This sudden concern for institutional frameworks is really flattering!

He is the tallest leaders of South Asia! :)

What is his height?

1. IK is talking what ordinary Pakistanis feel.
2. Both nations have been under pressure from China to cool things down.
3. But we have to wait. Indians being Indians they will play foul s they did with Mush in Agra. And the outcome at home may not be sweet for NS.

. .
What is his height?

10 times taller than NS and 100 times taller than Hasina.

Begani shaadi mai asad mian deewana. IK is a politician & it would be detrimental to his own political interest if he agrees with anything that ruling party achieves. Nothing to do with the feelings of ordinary Pakistanis.
Under pressure from China? Maybe for Pakistan...not for India. Then again I don't expect a lungi to understand importance of independent foreign policy...& not having to depend on someone else to look after you.

.
Who is Modi? What are his antecedents? Was this dramatic visit merely a stunt? With what objective? Last time NS arranged such a meeting without taking the military into confidence, it had proved fatal. This time - only time will tell.
Moodi,Darinder modi,Butcher of Gujarat,Fenku,Hindu terrorist,..........his haters call him diffferent names. You forgot:o:

Kashmir was dropped dead when Musharraf left the office.
I dont think so
its not that easy

There's no politics involved. I.Khan is right in pointing out that the foreign ministry should not have been left out.
its duty of opposition party to remind what rulling party is dooing
just part of democracy

We are a nation of 200 million people. Can't put every radical organisation in check nor prevent it from attacking Indian interests.
obviously Pakistan can do it ,Laskars as of now are under direct command of PA,you believe it or not

Obviously it should not have been left out but if it was then there has to be some real valid reason. Ever tried to analyse what that can be?

.
I believe Imran Khan is upset..
Imran bhai came to India and met NaMo alone.
BUT
NaMo went to Pakistan and met Nawaz Sharif and his whole family.

Of course he will feel bad.. NS was given more importance than Imran. Imran feeling hurt bcz of that
