Names of the ships are BNS durjoy, BNS nirmul and BNS surma . though not sure but I think this is locally made LPC or the 600 ton Corvette from China not the old Chinese frigate that we are going to induct soon .

খুলনার নেভাল জেটিতে বাংলাদেশ নৌবাহিনীর বহর হতে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে বানৌজা সুরমা যুদ্ধ জাহাজটিকে ডি-কমিশনিং করা হয়েছে।

বুধবার দুপুরে জ্যাক ও কমিশনিং পেনডেন্ট অবণত করে জাহাজটি ডি-কমিশনিং করেন খুলনা নৌবাহিনীর আঞ্চলিক কমান্ডার কমডোর শাহীন ইকবাল।

বানৌজা সুরমা বাংলাদেশ নৌবাহিনীতে ১৯৭৪ সালে ২৬ জুলাই আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে যাত্রা শুরু করে। এর আগে বাংলাদেশ ও ভারত সরকারের ক্ষুদ্রাস্ত্র বিনিময় চুক্তির আওতায় ১৯৬০ সালে কমিশন লাভ করা ‘আইএনএস অজয়’ জাহাজটি বাংলাদেশ সরকারকে প্রদান করা হয়।

সাম্প্রতিক অপারেশনাল সক্ষমতায় সীমাবদ্ধতার পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে জাহাজটিকে নৌবহর থেকে ডি-কমিশন করার সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়া হয়।

উল্লেখ্য, জাহাজটি ডি-কমিশন করা হলেও একই নামে খুলনা শিপইয়ার্ডে তৈরি দ্বিতীয় যুদ্ধ জাহাজটিকে প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা ২৯ আগস্ট চট্টগ্রামের নেভাল বার্থে কমিশনিং করবেন।

If I am not wrong almost half the component for Dornier 228NG MPA manufactured in India under licence production at HAL and final assembly done in Germany.


Can any one confirm this????
