Changing the supply route is not as easy as it sounds from some of the posts in this thread. If it was that easy US and NATO would have done it ages ago.

The supply route being changed is not really the core issue here. It may or may not work well for the US but this does underline an obvious change in the way US is looking at Pakistan. What this translates to will just be speculation as of now but there may be a cause for worry. It may be just another arm twist that US is applying but whatever the reason PAK may be at the receiving end as far as the US-PAK relations are concerned. What is very interesting will be PAK's official response to this news. Will they soil their under pants again or stand up or won't care????

@ topic... Can any senior members give some information about the NATO procurement and supply route. i Have known the supply is basically food, rations, weapons and fuel.

Are these shipped right from US then all the way through Atlantic then to Suez canal and then to Pakistan port and convoy ride to Afghan or is some products like fuel from middle east and other from NATO nations in Europe and through same route?

Agree, even I was shocked when he wrote that, he doesnt post like a premium member or writes like one anyway.

U.S. never helped Pakistan in any battles with india. Nixon promised Pakistan a naval fleet in 1971 war, but our Pakistani military were so naive to trust U.S. and were waiting for the fleet that never came. Pakistan has learned its lesson not to trust U.S. government/army/CIA now.

Yes maybe Russia is a more reliable friend to India than U.S. is to Pakistan, but Pakistan has no beef with Russia. India is the only country on earth Pakistan has disputes with, and the dispute is over Kashmir.

The Soviet Union is dead, extinct. We are talking about Russia.

Soviet Union was the agressor who wanted to occupy Afghanistan and some Pakistanis out of their own free will chose to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan.

Who gives Soviet Union, or any country, the right to occupy an independent sovereign nation.

But good for us. The sooner they leave the better. Though I don't see them leaving anytime soon, they've been trying so hard to move out of Pakistan and have barely managed 50%, and who knows what will happen in the winter.
