No Russia needs to grasp with the situation on how to co-exist with Ukraine. Unless Putin decides Ukraine still doesn't exist anymore in his mind. Because he needs to realize that the NATO countries that border with Russia is not a threat and have not been for many years since they join NATO. There is no massive armies ready to invade Russia, there are no IRBMs or Tomahawk missiles based there. No one is interested in invading Russia or anything like that. Now Russia's actions is pushing Finland and Sweden to join NATO besides Ukraine who lost territory to Russia years ago which why understandably wants to join NATO but NATO refused because of the fighting in Luhansk and Donbass.

Any big country has ambitions. The ambitions of China and USA mainly focus on the economy, while Russia has an endless appetite for territory.
Although I like Russia very much, and the my custom avatar can prove that, I understand the fear and disgust of the Baltic countries towards Russia.

Baltics hate Russia because of Soviet Times not US propaganda. Same reason Chezk republic , Poland and Slovakia Hates Russia. Back in the hay days of Soviet union , The Russian General Secretary of the CCCP used to control these states behind Iron curtain eith Iron Fist. Quilled any public unrest with tanks and Brute force. And CCCP was dominated with Russian SSR.
Its their internal matter and History.
After Fall of Nazi Germany , Marshal Stalin Gobelled up all of Eastern Europe from the vacuum created by fall of Axis powers. And they werent very popular by the end of Cold war. The ghost of that era haunts Europe to this day and shape Russia-Europr Relations to this day.

I have doubt too, this all fiasco beside Ukraine, something has to do with Turkey 2023 100 year accord too. Plus, Turkey supplied weapon to counter Russian armed forces. The coastline has will be gone and will be in hand of Russia.

Good analysis. I always wondered why Russia didn’t see the Baltics as just as much a threat as Ukraine. It was not about the threat, it was about rebuilding the Russian empire; and for that you need the heartland of the Kievan Rus. Also, Ukraine was vital in production for the Soviet Union and before it the Russian empire; food and technical products like weapons, as well as the only river in the Russian empire that doesn’t freeze over in winter and flows south into a major port city; Odessa. The parallels could also be made that an extremist government in India could claim the Indus civilization is there own, rather than they are a separate civilization based on the Ganges.
