Nat geo mission army starts today!

.
Sir -- I am from Tamil Nadu (a state in India) and I see Nat Geo in Tamil and my friend (he is from Andhra) sees it in Telugu.

Depending on viewership NatGeo also gives regional channels in addition to Hindi and ofcourse English.

India for you :D

they also telecast it in bengali n kolkata...but I guess you may change it as per your choice, if you are using the set top boxes ,you can select any language you prefer..English, Hindi or the regional one.

.
You get 3-4 language choices in dth(I've got reliance one) for NGC India for eg. English,Hindi,Tamil,Telegu,Bengali.

I had no idea National Geographic was producing such international shows, being an American entity.

I have always loved Nat Geo programming, it is usually very high quality stuff. I wish they'd broadcast these shows in the U.S.

Dumb question - it's not in English, right? I assume it was created by an Indian subdivision (or whatever) of National Geographic?

@ Chogy
NatGeo consistently creates high quality programming. Since this is being telecast by Nat Geo India which has a large creative team in India, it happens to be India specific. NatGeo has a huge viewership all across India. So the content is a mix of international content as well as Indian content.
The programs made in India are always scripted and story-boarded in English and even telecast in English. Depending on personal (and regional) choices, one can select from a bouquet of Indian languages on offer. The programs are dubbed into local languages.

On a personal note, i grew up in school thumbing through (hardbound) back issues in the library; of National Geographic from the 40s onward upto the 70s. Later had my own subscription for many years. Now i've over 200 DVDs of their productions in my home collection.

National Geographic made a huge contribution to my education, and motivated me to travel the world which i've been doing for about 3 decades.

Most people watch it in English. (India has the highest number of english speakers in the world :P). But like most foreign channels in India, you can choose any regional language you want.

^There have been enough discovery channel/ Nat geo pieces about Indian police/ firemen. The armed forces make it interesting because we get to see things we could never have before. The working of the war machine.
