I do recognize that. But Im not sure that we being taxpayers can continue to fund such projects in future. As the cost of such arms is only going up into les skies. Heck even a fighter programmed reached borderline trillion$$

Dont worry US will manage , they are still most powerful economy and Military , a decade ahead from their rivals ..

Its also because of the huge amount of money and resources the U.S spends on R&D and innovation. It's more than the entire GDP of some Europeans countries. So if they are ahead it's not by coincidence, but by planning, management, vision and some sort of good allocation of resources.
Plus the fact that the U.S attract the best brains around the world(also due to the freedom and opportunities the country provides) is also a major factor.
