'NASA, European Space Agency Want To Be Part Of Chandrayaan-II Mission'
Bangalore, India (PTI) Feb 08, 2010
NASA and European Space Agency (ESA) want to be part of Chandrayaan-II, the next Indian mission to Moon, by sending their instruments, ISRO Chairman K Radhakrishnan said here today.
Replying to a query whether NASA and ESA have sent proposals to ISRO to be part of Chandrayaan-II, expected in 2012 or 2013, by sending their instruments, Radhakrishnan told reporters, "They are all there actually (they have sent proposals)."
NASA and ESA are among "several candidates" who have evinced interest in Chandrayaan-2, he said.
"There is discussion going on that...And there is a team which is discussing with various scientists...Scientific Advisory Board. You look at all the requirements and what experiments we need to do and what mass is available and what they would require and from Chandrayaan-I, what are all the things that you have to follow up.

The United States, "Defense News" weekly site reports, India is expected to be launched in March this year, a new type of satellite. Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), a scientist said that they have completed Cartosat-2B satellite research and development work, the satellite used for remote detection of India among urban and rural areas, there will be for the military.
Last year, India was the one RISAT-2 satellite into orbit, 这颗 high-resolution military satellites by the Indian R & D and manufacturing, the purpose is to monitor the Indian border and coastline, to prevent violation of its territory of other countries. At present, the Indian military rely mainly on Cartosat series of satellite mapping.
The scientist also introduced, Cartosat-2B satellite Ikonos satellite with the United States, as from the distance to 800-900 kilometers in space shooting 1-meter resolution images, with a resolution after the United States and Quickbird satellite (resolution 60 cm), ranking second in the world.
India's military needs with satellites to the mountains of Kashmir Valley region for accurate mapping, in order to prevent terrorists from Pakistan into India through the area. To promote the network as the core of its Navy combat capabilities of information technology, India also plans to launch a dedicated satellite, covering 1,000 nautical miles of the Indian Ocean region. ISRO is working with India's Defense Research and Development Organization jointly developed the satellite. (Source: Liberation Army Daily)
