You do not need Olympics to develop your Infrastructure

you need infrastructure to operate olympics.. and SI states esp hyderabad certaainly beats ahmedabad in every sphere...

Not too many BJP SI states, so its difficult to exercise control and ensure probity. That is just a political reality.

Modi certainly has more comfort and control over Gujarat. But is also possible that the games will be distributed all over India, not localized only in Gujart.

Finally, most International committees will have a LOT more confidence about Gujarat than any other state in India. That too is an unpleasant reality.

central govt needs to stay away from this bias... we didn't vote for modi to see him have bias to his own state...had he showed this bias before elections he surely wouldn't have seen the support he has seen and it def dsn't go well with many non-gujaratis.. moreover, conducting olympics in guj dsn't make any sense.. ahmedabad is no metropolis when compared to cities like hyd/bang .. It surely dsn't njoy the diversity of population that these cities provide... moreover unlike hyd/ haryana guj is not favour for sports... hyd has provided many sports superstars to this country which guj can only dream of... In order to have things running smmothly you dn't need your own govt in the state, you need an efficient centralising committee to look at the works...

forget abt chennai, chennai is too humid to conduct an intl event like this.. why not hyd/bang/pune/gurgaon ?? hyderabad is one of the most developed metropolis and the weather of hyd is beyond awesome when compared to other Indian cities and yeah we are multilingual..

In 10 years, I really do not expect Hyderabad to survive they way it has. Buying a house in Hyderabad is the worst investment of my life.

If I had to bet on the future, I will bet on Andhra Pradesh under CBN and not Telengana under KCR. Just the bitter truth.

I am not a Guju, I am just practical and Pragmatic.

Gujarat has many things going for it, primary being international investor confidence and global image that is positive. Modi has worked hard to create that Image and now he wants to en-cash on it.

Its just smart Business.

Look I don care where the tourist feels safe. We are and do not conduct international sporting events for tourists. Even in economy terms tourist traffic in Delhi was a dud last time(Fk that was in India's capital) during CW2010 and thats was long before rape cases began to dominate the papers.
I repeat, no Indian city do not serve the basic of Urban life. Good roads, sanitation and hygiene and pavement.

Of course winning medals is important. We can win and gain 2nd place in Commonwealth games cos of home support and not all the world countries are participating. Hell we were 9 or 10th in the Asian games. Olympics is out of our league. If and when our athletes start doing well, home support is and will be important and help them gain more medals. But this is not the case now, nor that case going to change in 2025.
