Hydrogen peroxide is the analyte used in this research, and the aim of the research was to measure the analyte in nanomolar scales.

"The nanocomposite of titanium nitride and ionic liquid that was electrochemically stabilized on the surface of glass carbon electrode was used as an appropriate bed for the stabilization of catalase enzyme. Based on the obtained results, TiN-IL nanocomposite showed very high compatibility with biomolecules, and they did not show any damaging interaction with them. In addition to preserving the natural structure and electrocatalytic activities of the biomolecule, the nanocomposite speeds up electron transference procedure on the surface of the electrode," Ms. Shaqayeq Sa'adati, one of the researchers, said about the objectives of the research.

Among the results of the research, mention can be made of the covalent stabilization of ionic liquid containing amine on the electrode surface and the successful application of layer-to-layer method in order to produce hydrogen peroxide biosensor by using a nanocomposite made of ionic liquid and titanium nitride nanoparticles. Another achievement of this research was the application of the designed biosensor in the analysis of hydrogen peroxide in milk and medical creams.

The biosensors can be applied in medical industries such as makeup creams, hair dye, contact lenses liquid, and foodstuff, including milk preservation material.

Results of the research have been published on 13 November 2012 in Analytica Chimica Acta, vol. 753, pp. 32-41.
